Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Resident Evil: Revelations 1 and 2 coming to Switch in late 2017

Great news as these games are an awesome addition to the NS library.

..but really sucks that one game is physical and the other is digital.

I have RER1 on 3DS and WiiU and I have RER2 on Xbox One but I've been trying to get my hands on a Vita cartridge at a reasonable price (no more memory card space at all). This will do quite nicely. Hopefully with some sexy skins to spice things up.

Still right about Capcom putting more content probably based on the success of SF II sales on Switch.

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

AWESOME.  Keep them coming Capcom.

This sucks, looks like they lost out on 20 bucks since they want to make revalations 2 a digital download. I've already bought the first one on physical on 3ds and Wii U, and would've liked to buy the second one complete physically, but it looks like I'll just download it on Switch.

Revelations 2 was a misstep.

The first game tried to bring RE4 style action with original RE style levels and stages done in episode like form in order to be handheld friendly and it succeeded.

The sequel tried a less then stellar Co-op and episodic release of the game to milk players. After the misfire that was RE6 it isn't a surprise it failed to reach expectations. If they are releasing Revelations 2 as it was on other platforms most would be better off just buying the original game via digital for half the price.

It isn't the worst RE game especially among several of the recent stinkers in between Revelations 1 and RE7 but it is still a weak title.

Meh. Not what I was expecting. I thought USF2 was an indication that we were get more of the 8/16 bit capcom classics, not this uderwhelming crap. Disappointed.

Dumb that the physical version is only physical version of Revelation 1 and digital code of 2.

I played RE7 on PS4 but didn't like it. I disliked the lack of enemy variety, the tedious inventory management, the controls that felt rough, and I found the story pretty dumb. How do the Revelations games compare? Any input would be appreciated.

Have you played RE4-RE6?

If so, these games are similar. Resident Evil Revelations 1 is more methodical and requires a lot of backtracking but it's still more action than horror. It's got a decent bit of enemy variety but you're mostly going to be dealing with a handful of enemy types. RER2 has some interesting ideas for co-op like enemies that one player can see and the other can't. It's still more action than anything.

The story is horrible in both but for some reason, I don't mind. Graphics were pretty good (especially for a portable game) but not great. Neither are really scary.
