Didn't see a thread in the search but if there is one then lock this please.

Anyone else watch this? What an amazing show. Bateman has really impressed lately with his directing and non-comedic acting. This show has kind of a Breaking Bad vibe except the story doesn't quite follow the same path. But holy shit, those last few episodes were incredible!

So basically the plot is this Chicago financial expert launders money for a Mexican drug cartel and when bad shit happens, to save his life he persuades his boss that he can launder money a lot easier in this small area of Missouri called the Ozarks, so he uproots his family and moves there, and begins trying to buy businesses to meet this ridiculous money laundering goal he's been given or else he and his family are dead.

Great acting, great writing. Very disturbing death scenes for many people.

When that dude SPLAT hit the ground early on. Two dudes get electrocuted later in the season, burns skin off their face, burns right through to the bone in their hands. Fucking Del getting his head blown off, the shot of him lying there with it split open. Holy shit!

It's really an amazing show. Can't wait for season two now.

Around the Network

I've been searching Netflix for a new drama to watch after House was removed. For some reason I haven't finished Breaking Bad yet and whenever I try, I can't get through one episode. It's a shame since I really remember enjoying that show. This might be worth a watch.

EDIT: Holy crap.... this TV show looks about as well shot as a movie. Shots like the main character rowing on the river and him walking on the pier make this look a lot more high budget than it actually is. I love the fact that nothing is traditionally shot. My favorite part though is the greenish/blue tint the editor decided to use for color grading. Appreciate the fact that it's not just raw footage. (This is only based on the first 5 minutes though.)

If this is anything like House of Cards quality wise - bleh. That series was so overrated.

Interested in this though, might give it a shot.

Thanks for the suggestion. 98% match according to Netflix whatever that means, added to my list. No clue when I'll get to it since the list is miles long...

I wouldn't know, I've meant to get into HoC but never got around to it.

This series is pretty amazing though. Season one was great. Great writing and acting all around. Nothing too far fetched in season one.
