Not really... unlike cod, bf is not a yearly franchise. And we still need like 3 more map packs for bf1 to be complete.
For sure no mainline bf will be out next year

Battlefront has been a copy of Battlefield since literally the original games. I get that there's slight differences between Battlefront 1 EA and Battlefield, but they're pretty much the same game. Maybe Battlefront 2 will be wildly different, though.

Keep in mind Hardline released in March, while BF1 released in November. So it is a bit strange, but I don't really consider it a yearly franchise.
Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

Gameplay is similar but imo they really different the same. BF has a campaign while battlefront 1 did not. The addition of third person changes up how you play battlefront compared to a Battlefield game. Battlefront have space battles and doesn't have vehicles in the land battles. these are just a few huge differences that dont make them feel the same.

none of this matters because I said "it might as well be yearly" and not "it is" but ...
" BF has a campaign while battlefront 1 did not"
So? Nobody ever cares about the campaigns.
" Battlefront have space battles "
Battlefront 1 EA did not have space battles at all at launch.
" doesn't have vehicles in the land battles. "
Yeah they do. They're a bit different but they're defintitely in the game

I think that Battlefield isn't often considered a yearly franchise as much as COD, because the developers try to branch a little bit more with the franchise. Like the Bad Company games were quite a bit different, same with Hardline etc. Even though it is approximately a yearly franchise in actual timing, it feels less stale than what's normally given that label.
