Forums - General Discussion - TIFU by spraying medical grade lysol on my inner thigh area

I guess since I have an overactive itching anus I probably have a lot of scratches,  but that Lysol burned like crazy.  Had to use a sock to wipe it off and the sock just made it worse.  Eventually I used my fiances underwear to wipe off the fire.

Anyone ever do something as mildly painful?

I did something very similar, but the itching was more focused around the groin and balls, and instead of Lysol I used ethanol. Apparently I had lots of scratches too, and seems like balls are kinda sensitive on top of that. It burned really bad, but not for very long. It kind felt like small, sharp, flaming needles were piercing my balls too. I figured all the burning meant it should work and I was really broke so I talked myself into doing it again twice a day for a few days.

It didn't work.

Common symptoms of jock itch include:

    redness in the affected area
persistent itching in the affected area
burning sensation in the affected area

flaking, peeling, or cracking skin in the affected area
a rash that gets worse with exercise or activity
    changes in skin color

a rash that does not improve or even worsens or spreads with over-the-counter hydrocortisone (anti-itch) cream

Jock itch cream or spray cost under 8 dollars.  Maybe next time you'll choose the better option.  I should know because I've been walking and working my ass off at work lately and I currently came down with a small case.  I'm about to go to the store now and buy some spray.

I leave you guys alone for two hours and THIS is what I come back to!?! Spraying Lysol on your balls and setting each other on fire? Go to your room. ALL OF YOU.

But not you. You know who you are. You stick around. I have something special planned for you...

Well as a young kid I thought it would be cool if I could light a small part of my body on fire and then the fire would magically go out. TLDR: it didn't

I sprayed axe body spray on my arm in a line and lit it on fire. I thought it would just light the axe on fire briefly then dissipate, but nah the fire needed something else to kindle so it chose my skin. I was with a friend and I was like "I'm on fire! help" so he gets a wet towel and we put it on and thus I had a scar for about a year.

So yea mildly painful, but no lasting effect.

You... set yourself on fire? :O

Wow, that's not something many people can say they've done!

most young kids I know when fires involved it tends to be about lighting their farts.

Well I sprayed the walls a bit and lit that on fire and in the dark you could like spell your name and then it would go out pretty quickly. So I assumed the same for my skin. I am just glad walls aren't very flammable as I thought, and didn't burn part of the house down.

Thanks for the medical advice, and good luck with your treatment. Just as an aside, when I say "really broke" I really do mean it, the cream wans't really an option for a few days. Still, i figure just keeping it clean and dry in the mean time would have been better, but oh well

How did I miss this thread? I don't even know where to start....but... Don't use household cleaning agents to clean yourself. That's a terrible idea. If you you look at any Lysol product ( at least in Canada ) it will always tell you to avoid ANY skin contact, let alone sensitive areas.

Just wanted to highlight certain parts of your comment for no reason other than to highlight them.

I always spray it around really heavily and then we breath it around the house. I have not been sick in years, I hope it does not damage anything.

@farmageddon

Yeah, I was in a hurry and wanted a quick stank clean up. It did well, but burned like hell. Maybe I had a scratch as well?

Try not to overdo it with that stuff. I use vinegar and isopropyl when I can, depending on the surface.

You should try just straight up huffing it next time.  Give you the wah-wah effect as your brain cells pop.
