I answered a question I was asked. What was I supposed to do lie? I'm happy for the person doing what they felt they had to do I've said it many times that i feel bad or that it sucks for those affected.

I'm going to challenge you here. I think StarOcean is twisting your words, but I can understand why they are so offended by your comment.

"Being happy for" someone and "being happy" that something happened are not the same thing. That said, I feel you are showing a huge lack of understanding of what drives someone to even comtenplate, let alone attempt, suicide. In the most basic terms, its is a lasr resort when their outlook on their life is that things can't get worse but will never get better and an act of sheer desperation to end their suffering. To say you are happy they succeeded is warped to say the least.

Well i dont want to derail the thread further so if you want more explanation im willing to do it through PM.

If the person is suffering and feels like they dont want to live im for them getting as much help as they want i said this in another thread before but if nothing helps and they decide to kill themselves im glad that the person doesnt have ot suffer any more thats what i meant by saying im happy for them. Ive also said that it feels bad for those affected because i had an uncle that shot himself and it felt bad knowing id never get to talk to him again but i was glad he didnt have to suffer and did what he felt he had to do.

I expected something like this when he said he was a friend of the LGBT community during the election.

That's Trump for you. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Just look at his face.

I can understand this decision. I'm not saying it's ethically right but when it comes to military and war, it's definitely the right decision. It's clear a lot of people here don't have military experience and thus don't understand the dynamics at all. I'm not going to dig very deep but let's be honest here. One and perhaps the biggest problem of all is this, a transgender person in army simply has no authority at all regardless of rank. That's it.

I thought the same. Besides, there´s still a lot of discussion about how exactly a transgender should apply in many sectors of society : as the sex he biologically is or as the sex he prefer to live as. It´s close to the same discussion of transgenders in sports, where many federations just prefer to put them in a separate league.

It's always funny to hear the American left say that the country is full of idiots and idiocracy has become true.

They've had hugely disproportionate influence in their country's education system and media for decades (and thank to America's power, they've also had influence in other countries' media and education systems as well).

If the country has become more ignorant, then whose fault is that?

If people have come to think that feels are more important than reals, then whose fault is that?

If people have come to think that portraying themselves as victims will help them win arguments, then whose fault is that?

If people have come to think that the establishment is inherently corrupt and untrustworthy, then whose fault is that?

If people have come to think that truth is subjective and relative rather than objective and absolute, then whose fault is that?

Who taught people to think that way?

It seems you somehow seem to have a twisted perception of what the American left is about. Especially concerning your educational argument and the growing ignorance. I bet Bush did a lot to ensure the people's trust...haha, come on...do you even hear yourself?!

You got it the wrong way brother.

Jeez, this comment section is cancer. That's why we should just conversate on games/entertainment. With Trump as president, he's made a lot of people angry I understand that anger, trust me. But it isn't worth it. Some people are just straight up ignorant and bitter and it might not be their fault but it's not up to us to judge them.

R.I.P to all the Banned.

Finally, a decision I can agree with! Go Trump!

There is an alarming number of people voting yes. Anyone who's qualified based on physical and mental tests and theoretical exams (so passing militairy education really) should be allowed to serve. Whether you are male, female or whatever you choose to identify with shouldn't matter for the tests or whether or not you are allowed to serve your country. Hell for all I care a soldier is a bisexual transexual that identifies himself as ... if he passes the training and tests he may serve his country. Doesn't the US constitution say something about no to discrimination and every human being is equal and deserves equal treatment.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

It can also be viewed as a mental illness to decide to mutilate yourself just so you could "identify" as something else.

It's done by medical professions. You are saying breast/penis enlargement surgery is also mutilation.

Absoloute night and day.  Gutting your penis and tucking it in leaving it non functional as nature intended is mutilation.

A woman with breast implants can still breast feed and do with them as they were deaigned to do.  Saying the they are same thing is nothing short of a joke and a poor attempt at a point.

I mean, I would not stop anybody who wants to fight and possibly die for their country, so long as they meet all the physical and mental requirements.

"Trick shot? The trick is NOT to get shot." - Lucian

It shouldn't matter if an individual is male, female, or transgender. Just like it shouldn't matter if they are gay, straight, or bisexual. White, Black, Latino, or Orange with Blue stripes, whatever you may call it. If that individual is physically and mentally able and willing to serve in their military, they should be allowed to do so. This ban is not even giving those people the chance to do so. "They will not mentally be able to serve." How do you know? Why don't you give them a shot? You can dress this up as much as you'd like, at the bottom line, this is discrimination in its purest form. You are forbidding an individual from taking part in something that is important to them, even if he/she is perfectly capable of doing so, just because of how they identify themselves sexually. Why should that matter in regards to how well they can perform the task given to them? It's like saying this game developer can't be hired by this game company because she's a female and the company only hires males, and that she would hold the team back because of reasons relating to her gender, even if she is just as skilled if not more skilled as a developer than they are. Whatever excuses they have for justifying this ban are exactly that, excuses.
