Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Evre Nintendo Switch game already passed 1m, and Zelda BotW and MK8D crazy attach rates (83% and 75%)

It's certainly impressive, but not really all that surprising. BotW and MK8 are still essentially the only real system sellers on the Switch, and most people buy the system on their strength alone at this point.

Well now we have Splatoon 2 also, but fact is that all 3 are very strong system sellers and esantaly must have games.

I guess that suggests that there are currently hardly any popular games for the Switch except for those two, and people are currently basically buying the Switch because of those two games.

So Nintendo Switch might be in trouble in case Nintendo can't manage to deliver a constant stream of highly popular first-party system-seller titles like those.

You dont need to worry about that, Nintendo still cant keep up with demand even MK8D was launched in April, and now Splatoon 2 is just launched and we will have Mario Odyssey in October.

So dramatically down from the 100% attach rate of Wii Sports in its first months. Nintendo is losing their mojo.

Wii Sports never had 100% attach rate. More like 95%. It was not a pack-in in Japan.

That's pretty bold to assume that not every person in Japan bought Wii Sports to their Wii at launch.

So we have every single first party game crossing 1m units and that's a sign that Nintendo is in trouble? :p

Those, and now, Splatoon 2.

There's always at least one guy that didn't purchase it, either intentionally or by accident.

A handheld gamer only (for now).

People buy Nintendo systems for Nintendo games. It's weird.

4 ≈ One

Arms at 1.2 million is incredible. Brilliant so far for Nintendo and this is without Splatoon's impact on the summer!

Crazy!

Pocky Lover Boy!

That's what so called 'console sellers' can do....and people say exclusives don't matter.

Granted the Switch doesn't have a big amount of games atm but most of them are great AND exclusives.

And that's as of the end of June only, so two weeks.  Nintendo might have another Splatoon-like success on their hands as long as they keep on supporting ARMS with free DLC to keep the online community alive like they did with Splatoon.  I hope there's a couple of more game modes in the game's future along with a final roster that reaches around 20.
