Are you new here? This is very common to happen and it was just a lack of attention from me and I already apologized to Miyamoto, the only thing i can do now is wait for some moderator to lock this thread.

That it happens very commonly is just one more reason to remind the thread creators every single time. I mean I have posted a dupe thread before by accident but that wasn't of a thread that was literally centimeters away from my thread.

If you really couldn't see the thread that had the exact same headline as yours I suggest using the browser search function next time. "ctrl + f". In this case Minecraft would've been a great search term. That way the browser does the looking for you :)

Like i said "it was just a lack of attention from me", i do this 80% of the time (use ctrl+f to search a thread that i'll create), so this time i forgot and i already apologized to Miyamoto for this. end of the discussion and have a Good Night.

But that's what i"m saying. Even with consoles having lower specs all they'd have to do is decrease draw distance...there shouldn't be any reason not to have the game as big on a console as PC. I don't remember either version having tons of gigabytes of content.

It's not just about the draw distance though, keep in mind that the X360 has a total of 512mb of system RAM to store the world in without requiring loading, the Switch has 4GB and the X1/PS4 carry 8GB so that is pretty much where the worlds size limits comes into play.

World size limit seems to be mainly about built-in memory as even the humble Vita competes with 360,PS3 and wii u and Vita has 640MB of memory just over 360/ps3 but below wii u. The 4GB of the Switch seems to enable an intermediate world size limit but can't match the 2 8GB consoles. If the PS4 and Xbox one had been 4GB consoles they probably would be at the same world size as Switch.

It isn't about RAM size, but storage space for the save files. It isn't uncommon to see a few gigabytes of save files on the PC version of minecraft. Console manufacturerers have upper limits on how big a save file can be, and Nintendo is likely more strict than Sony and Microsoft because of the storage limitations of the Switch.

Personally, I don't mind these threads co-existing, since this thread offers a more extensive update list, while the earlier thread is focused purely on the resolution increase.

Still...make sure to (contiue to) search for similar topics moving forward. I like your activity, but the less redundant topics we have, the better.

You cannot derail a dupe thread. It's already a stain on the forum

But I see the thread is still open because of a changed title and slightly different content. I'm gonna assume the mods have something to do with this.

That may be true but it seems more related to actual memory capacity of the consoles not its storage because the connection is more consistent. Both ps3 and 360 have access to larger storage pools than Nintendo Switch for save files yet the Switch has 8 times the memory of those consoles and surely as the game world gets bigger it still needs more memory to process that world before it even gets to the point of saving its file. It's not like the only restriction can be how big the save files can be.

You are looking at a correlation and implying causation. A laptop with 1 GB of free ram (after OS usage) can run Minecraft with an unlimited world size. Why? Because it has relatively unlimited save sizes to fill up relatively unlimited storage space, and the world is generated procedurely as one explores it.

Ram does not affect world size, because there is a constant amount of the world loaded at any one time. Ram affects how many blocks are loaded at any one time. If what you say is true, as you explore the world more ram would be used up, which would be a terrible way to design the game -- with an intentional memory leak like that.

There were 8 GB 360's and 20GB PS3's by the way, and due to that Sony and Microsoft might have had stricter save file constraints than Nintendo does now.

I guess but 4gb is a lot i mean my ram was like 2 gb when i played minecraft

Edit : So recommended ram is 4gb and minimum is 2. So i guess it makes sense why it would be smaller on Switch because it probably has about 3 gb of free ram. although the worlds don't get smaller if you have 2gb on pc as opposed t o 4gb, so who knows.

I posted it before but it has more to do with the limit of the save files. If you play on PC and especially with groups you can have worlds that have +5GB save files (have fun when you got a 4 GB Xbox 360 Mc bundle) basically the limits of the save file made the game smaller on consoles. Far land has one of the biggest world sizes with going + 18 GB => http://farlandsorbust.com/map.html
