Forums - Sales Discussion - Does NPD still not directly track Toys“R”Us?

I know they stopped tracking them back in 2007, but I seem to remember them getting back Toys“R”Us at some point.

However my Google searches have yielded little.

And while I'm at it, how much of the US game market does NPD track? I've seen 95% thrown around, but the only source I found was a ZhugeEX blog from 2016 (which may very well be a good enough source, but I wasn't sure).

Thanks in advance.

Bets:

1. If the Wii U sells closer to 10 million LTD by 1/3/2015 I win. If it sells closer to 9.5 million LTD by 1/3/2015 OfficerRaichu15 wins (winner gets 2 weeks of avatar control)--Lost.

Guess no one knows for sure?

Our most recent leaker said they get 95% of the market from direct point-of-sale transaction data and another 2% from other direct data sources. Which backs up what ZhugeEX had in his blog.

So I'll assume they track Toys“R”Us again.

I'd like to know too, but it looks like we're sol.

I believe so. The 3% that they would miss is from non country wide stores. Like the stores in this article.
