Forums - Gaming Discussion - Grim Dawn VS Path Of Exile

Which game should I start. Im a huge D2 fan played for over 5 years and looking for a replacement.

I tried d3 and only lasted 5 months didnt like it.

So anyone experienced with both these games and have an opinion on which one i should try?

Path of Exile... is much better.

Highly addictive.... its basically what Diablo 3 should have been.

Theres a new expansion for it (its free to play), comeing out in like 11 days.

They have ladder racers, leaderboards, going on constantly.

"With durations ranging from minutes to one month, they allow players to demonstrate mastery of Path of Exile."

So you can play the game, to compete with others in various ways. Doing challenges/races, to earn points for the season.

Every 3-4months or so, they have a new season.

If your casual about it, you can make a character play it like a month and stop once your happy with that character.

Either make a new one, or wait for new season, and see what balance changes, tweeks to skills ect they make, and try something differnt next time.

No one else wants to weigh in on the matter? jeez.

I only played Diablo III on PS4 and it's awesome there.

I played some of Path of Exile on my PC and it's a fun game. Not as good but fun. Been over a year since I last played tho. I know it's a side scroller but I like Dragon's Crown more but that game isn't infinite like these 2.

Grim Dawn is great but I have no idea about Path of Exile. I've been meaning to play it for years already, but it's not very high on my backlog, so I've played other games instead of it.

hmm im still not sure but i think i'll start path of exile and see how it goes. I hear its unforgiving and you cant respec your character if you screw up the skills.

They are both good tbh but I liked Grim Dawn world and tone more

I spent hours on Grim Dawn, just scraping along to get to just the first boss and when you look at the world map, Jesus it's huge. I love the fact that I can transverse the entire world and be able to use teleportation stones or make my own to teleport to whatever stone I've unlocked along the way.

I also love the dual spec builds you can roll with in GD, as well as the payoff you get for mix matching talents. The umf in the weapons and spells isn't all that amazing and impactful, Diablo has that hands down, but the scope of the world size, setting and the fact you can literally walk from point A to B is nice.

I haven't touched PoE, mostly because it doesn't look like it plays exactly like Diablo/GD through and through.
