So for those of you who have a Switch, what are your impressions of HD Rumble so far? Are there any games where it's particularly well used, does it feel significantly better than standard rumble?

It's actually used more subtly than I imagined it being upon hearing about it, but it's pretty cool in my experience, and the subtlety actually works to make it a bit more realistic a lot of times. Strangely enough, the game I can think of that stands out the most when it comes to the HD rumble is Fast RMX. The sensations of the varying degrees and forms of the vibration is pretty cool and feels realistic. Mario Kart 8 is pretty good with it as well, you can feel the bumps of the tracks and the reving of the engine. As a footnote - the marble mini game in 1,2 Switch was almost creepy accurate. A minor mini game obviously but just shows the capabilities of the thing.

It's nothing revolutionary, but a pretty nice improvement overall over traditional rumble I'd say.

Slightly better then normal rumbles. Pretty pointless tbh

One of the few things I haven't yet complained about. I only had it in Zelda but the rumble in the Joycons is a complete joke. I've seen tiny vibrator eggs having more rumble power. One would think it's better with the Pro controller but it really isn't. I'd say it's close to false advertising calling it rumble at all.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Honestly, people are underrating HD Rumble in many instances. Aside from being a cool little gimmick, it really gives you the ability to use the switch as a handheld, get high quality rumble, and not feel compromised with screen shaking or vibration interference.

It is very much underappreciated in that only one controller rumbles on the side with contact making the overall experience of rumble much easier, especially in hand held mode.

Snipperclips works well with it.
But, yeah.
It is rumble, but better.

Rumble in general is something I think is a waste of resources noo matter what system it's on.

But sure it's nice and in MK it imitates the feeling of driving into water pretty well and I like the sonar "boing!" when picking up a coin.

GEM also makes decent use of it in my opinion.

But could I live without it?

Absolutley, as I said earlier I've never cared for rumble at all since it does not add to the experience. I take full on motion controls before rumble any day (if well implemented and not just tucked on).

It's cool in Mario Kart (different kinds of rumble for different situations) but I haven't really noticed in other games. I think it's the kind of feature developers need to take their time to properly implement and it's often overlooked.

I would miss it if it wasn't there when playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

It's absolutely amazing in 1-2-Switch.

I haven't really noticed it as being particularly noteworthy in other games yet.

I've onlyplayed BotW, so i haven't used that much.

You know it deserves the GOTY.
