I just saw a Spider-Man movie where he could barely contend with 2 dudes in a van, cus they had some fancy gadgets. He also couldn't hold a candle to the Vulture during the whole movie. Now, the next time we see him, Marvel wants me to believe he can be useful against Thanos. Sure.

As for that trailer itself, can't really make out too much of it, but I'm glad there isn't any joking in it.

I agree! The MCU version of Spider-Man is very inconsistent and unbelievable to the character he's supposed to play. He barely landed a blow on the Vulture at the end of the film and it was only the pack exploding that created the illusion of winning the battle. He saved Tombes. Shocker on the other hand beat him down like the bitch he is.

Spider-Man is my favorite super hero from my childhood I was very disapointed.

Why doesn't Disney just release this trailer already? There's no point in sitting on D23 footage forever when you have a movie to sell.

I missed the boat. Damn.

Streamable link still works.

I thought Avengers back in 2012 was my childhood dream on screen, but this ups it to so many degrees it seems impossible.

Jesus I had to play that crap on mute. Such an over excitable crowd.

Looks crap but thats no surprise. Will probably watch it to see what the Guardians are up to.

You got to remember he is still just a kid,  learning his powers and what his suit does.  They will expect you to believe that by then he will be much more capable. The consensus on the internet is that Spiderman holds back too.

He stopped a train in Spiderman 2. He held a boat together in this last movie.  Had a building fall on him until he realized aunt mae wasn't coming to save him as he threw that shot off him.

Also.... Just believe---

What they expect, is apparently that the audience is stupid.

They expect me to believe that in Civil War, Spidey could tango with the Winter Soldier and Falcon at the same time (without breaking a sweat), and compete with Captain America (who he should really beat anyway except it's Cap's movie and he keeps getting power ups in every new movie he's in), but then months later, after having had a lot more time to experiment with his new suit, he's regressed to being a total scrub. All for the purposes of making an origin movie that isn't an origin movie. It's not altogether surprising, considering the Marvel movies treat pretty much all their heroes with wild inconsistency across the board, but it's just especially flagrant here, and Infinity War is going to take it to downright absurd levels.

Also, this iteration of Spiderman has nothing to do with Spiderman 2, so the train sequence is irrelevant. The boat in Homecoming....he's never actually holding it together at all. His webs hold it together briefly, and when that fails, and he himself tries to hold it together, Iron Man comes in instantaneously. It wasn't at all like in the trailer where they made it seem like Spidey was able to hold it for a little while. This Spiderman is also definitely NOT holding back. He's an overeager, excitable teenager, desperately trying to prove himself. At no point in Civil War or Homecoming is he restraining himself whatsoever.

So now, after watching both amateur Shockers, and Vulture beat Spidey's ass nonstop for a whole movie, we're supposed to buy that he can help in a fight with Thanos for the fate of the world/galaxy/universe? That's taking suspension of disbelief to a whole new level.

What the hell has Thanos been doing all these years?
