Forums - Politics Discussion - So Republicans haven't passed one piece of major legislation yet (and they still haven't)

Are you glad Republicans can't pass shit?

Yes 200 72.20%

No 39 14.08%

Results 38 13.72%

Total:277

You'd think after 8 years, they'd have something brewed up. They talked so big about "Repeal and replace" and don't have shit to show for it. They're just sour, jaded dumbasses that are mad at the progress Obama did make. If they continue to be blinded by hatred and jealousy they won't get nothing done the entire 4 years. Hell, the first year is almost up and their administration is up in smoke. I just found that Sean Spicer let himself go, so did Jeff Sessions, everybody is jumping ship or scared to death while working in the Trump Administration. It's simply not somewhere you want to be as President. It's toxic and it prevents progress.

On topic: good, things are going how I planned. Trump is so universally hated that no one wants to agree with him or anyone that supports him, causing a complete standstill in Congress. May get about ten things passed in total from Trump before 2020 arrives and we rid preserves of him and elect our Lord and Savior Bernie Mother Fucking Sanders.

Don't get your hopes up. Sanders is almost 76 this year. He'll be 79 by 2020, so I really don't think he'll be the one. If a progressive is nominated, it'll be Elizabeth Warren. But even I'm skeptical if they'll nominate a progressive for 2020.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

I can dream.

Explain.

Many states (surprise, like Hillary's New York) required people to be registered Democratic voters in order to vote for the Democratic seat. Unfortunately, most Bernie supporters we're third party, had never voted before, or were Republican voters tired of the horseshit. This meant that NONE of this majority of Bernie voters were actually allowed to vote for the Democratic seat.

I understand the reasoning for requiring a registration, so I'm not dogging on that. But if they aren't going to include a legitimate third seat in debates that can be chosen by those unregistered with the DNC or Republicans, then they shouldn't be allowed to require registration. That all said, there were a number of Bernie protests at Hillary rallies, but the ever-controlled media didn't really pay too much attention to it.

Both parties do that, and it has to be done. Otherwise you have members of one party voting in another party's caucus. They can vote for the weakest candidate effectively sabotaging the opposition's ticket. Iowa lets you register for one party or another so long as you also check for a portion of your taxes to go to said party. This let's people vote freely, and discourages troll voting from the opposition.

Oh and Hillary was the weakest Democratic candidate in years. Voted for the Iraq War. Voted for the Patriot Act. She was in favor of 100% illegal immigration amnesty (this would have erased borders and caused chaos). Anti-medical marijauna. Anti-gun rights. Pro-Keystone XL. Pro-Sopa/Pipa.

Doesn't change what it is, and it's voter registration. You can't say you're against something and then publicly do it.

True. They really should follow Iowa's example on that one. Let everybody caucus so long as they agree to a portion of their taxes going to the party.

These things takes time. Give the republicans a year and they will pass some stuff.

Well, it isnt an easy task to pass one major piece. A lot of pressure, focus and determination is involved. But when accomplished you surely can be proud of yourself.

Well they better accomplish something positive before mid 2018 or I see the Democrats taking the Senate and probably the House.  Trump has so many cluster fucks everywhere that I don't think anybody really knows what to do now.

My dad's knee gave out and he fell and landed badly... he shattered his Patellar (kneecap).

I looked up the avg costs in the US for simple version of a breaks surgery, and that was over 15,000$.
Then throw in Xrays, and the lateron therapy to regain strength in the leg..... yeah.

Im glad we dont have the USA's healthcare system here.

Im also happy the republicans havnt been able to take away any healthcare from anyone yet.

You can't really look up the costs of an operation like that.  The American healthcare system is way too complex for that.  First of all, there are thousands of healthcare networks that are all built differently and charge differently.  Then there is the fact that it is built to charge people's insurance for the cost, so most people's out of pocket is just a couple hundred for operations.  If you are one of the few who don't have insurance, they generally drop the price by half if not more.  My brother was in a major car accident and had to have multiple surgeries and long term care for a while.  When the hospital learned he didn't have insurance they reduced his bill by 90%.
