I enjoyed it for what it was. Didn't find it boring. I mean just because nearly everyone else likes it doesn't mean you have to.

Also I mean that's kinda how it played out in real life. except there was alot more aerial combat amongst Luftwaffe and RAF. The British lost around 70,000 soldiers in that campaign rescued 340,000 hence why we british see it as a Victory, or at least celebrate the fact that civilians and everyday people came to their rescue in their hour of need.

I feel the only reason it was not boring was because I was there waiting for something spectacular to happen.  I kept saying to myself,  "OK,  good this is OK,  now let's get to... Ahhh this is fine... Ooooooh more perfectly OK stuff,  now I would like to see fuck Hardy was taken prisoner and probably murdered.

The end. No theater clapping,  no man I hate the Germans back then,  no thinking they finally made it,  just over.  Thank you for the popcorn

My Grandfather was a British soldier mate, and was captured after he was airdropped the day before D-day from a RAF glider, which was shot down, he was taken to a POW camp, his wife my Grandma was told he died, a year later he was liberated by the Americans or British can't remember, but he survived and wasn't murdered by the Germans. He did get rifle butted so hard that he had kidney problem for the rest of his life though. Anyways I'm rambling, point was, Germans didn't murder allied POW's often.

I don't really agree, though I still think it's truly overrated. It's the best war movie I've seen though, I think every war movie is between horrid and meh. The best one before Dunkirk being Saving Private Ryan. Which was a 6/10 movie at best imho.

The reception in my cinema was pretty poor though. No claps at the ending, people leaving in the middle of the movie and ton of comments about boredom. But, to be frankly, this movie, unlike every Nolan movie before, doesn't have any mainstream appeal. It's too minimalistic, it has almost no dialogue, and it's not fast-paced enough to be of general interest imho.

Seen someone else say that. Is that an American thing or something? I've literally never seen that happen before. Would be really weird to me.

It happens occasionally in the Us, but usually only at the earliest, enthusiast screenings for Star Wars or Lord of the Rings. At most screenings, people just walk out and talk amongst themselves.

As for the movie itself, I have yet to see it, but would it be best for a movie of this type to have mainstream action scenes? In real life, it was rather brutal, and the movie is likely a testament to the impressive endurance and courage of the British forces, who survived despite their fear, suffering and inflicted losses.

I live in a country where people express their sentiments very easily yet I rarely see people claping after a movie is over, that's something you do on a live performance.

It's a Christopher Nolan movie so ofc everyone is gonna suck it's d*** :D

Haven't seen it yet but I am excited to. Mainly because it seems like there is no real character development.. To me war movies isn't about people. It's about the spectacle. If you look at Michael bay's pearl harbor, you always skip the padded on drama at the beginning, but I'm sure most would agree that once the attack scene begins it's really enjoyable. Sure you need developed characters to care about what happens to them, but I think the whole human aspect of movies has been overrated throughout the years. Surely you can make compelling film without them In various forms

It's not really common, but it's extremely common in my are. As a matter of fact, I saw 15 movies this year and this was the first it didn't happen.

Though I think it's the second best movie I've seen this year.

Too bad you didn't enjoy it.... Maybe if Spiderman had of appeared?

I really enjoyed it :)
