Hasn't Xenoblade been crushed by every recent FF, Persona, and Kingdom Hearts?

I know wev'e been inundated with FPS games, but the genre never left.

Seriously? I can't speak for Persona, cause never played them, but let's just take FF and KH for example.

1. SE had been saying for years that they can't make these "big games" anymore because it is impossible on current graphics. Too much work, assets, ect ot give us multiple cities and so big worlds. Xenoblade brought us back that ps2 and earlier era of huge epic RPG game. Blue Dragon and Lost Oddysey both kept the PS2 style RPG, but after those 2 the genre was very unrecognizable to fans of the genre. They became these CGI fested linear watered down games.

2. FF has been getting worse significantly since 10.

3. Kingdom hearts is probably the most convaluted mess of a story one can think of in recent times. The game strives on "nostalgia" Pure and simple. People in this thread bitch about Zelda or other old games being bad and only nostalgia bringing them up. That is all Kingdom Hearts has going for it. Not nostalgia as in a game from tehir childhood, but using Disney characters from their childhood. The novelty of all those iconic characters they treasure and hold dear are blinding them to the mess the story is.

Suikoden 2's sales as well as Persona's (except 5) also weren't great.

There's just something to be said when a game that has nowhere near the built in recognition and fanbase as FF, or the draw of an epic Disney jrpg like Kingdom Hearts gets praised both critically and commercially praised as one of the greatest jrpgs of all time.

Sales wise sure, it doesn't rake in the #s of a FF, but it was also a limited release with 0 advertising from a company that produced only a handful of games. They're now regarded as one of the best development teams currently.

I'm replaying RE4 now, it's such a masterpiece.

A lot was said here, but the fact remains that FFXV was super JRPG (Just look at that boy band lol!) and sold more than 5 times what XCX did. Likewise, FFXIII outsold XC by a wider margin (It was also outsold by XIII's spin-offs). We could look at the last Star Ocean as being emblematic of the genre's woes, as the fall off has been disheartening, but then what of Bravely Default?

The bolded section above highlights the travesty that is this poll. How is it not on the list!? Regardless of what it represents to a genre, it was a masterpiece.

Side note: if you want a laugh, look up the number for FFXV on PS3.

Brand loyalty is a hell of a thing. Critically and user score wise XCX was the superior game.

Unfortunately, that sword cuts both ways: in FF's case people will downvote any game that's not IX lol.

Can you blame them? Doesn't really mean the scores don't reflect their opinions.
