Forums - Politics Discussion - During ‘Made in America Week,’ President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club applies to hire 70 foreign workers

Won't change so many will follow his cult. He can do what he wants, they will simply listen to him again and again saying how everyone else is lying and will love him for whatever he does.

But Donald Trump doesn't run his businesses. Yes, it is hypocritical, but Trump himself isn't actually running these companies/properties anymore.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

I'm no fan of Trump but realistically choosing to buy american is surely about where there is or can be an american manufactured option. You'll never going to get american factories competing on price for clothes and for basic jobs like cleaning etc maybe wages are so low that those jobs will only be taken by imported labour. If you say 'buy american' it can't just be a blanket statement for everything surely.

Pushing americans to think more about where their goods are manufactured surely is a good thing. I'm in the UK myself but I'm not keen on China a communist and corrupt country taking the title as world's most powerful economy. I think for the world it is important the US stays strong and improving their trade deficit is part of that. The world is buying too much from China, its damaging many economies and leading to huge levels of national debt around the world

Give up. China is not owning the world through military like Russia and USA it is owning through actually owning as in almost every country has debt with China and everything is made in China. And communism ain't so bad but sadly China is much more a capitalist nation then communist. But back to the point China is building roads that connect the central three continents of the world. It is constructing ports that connect all of lower Asia. It wants to build railways with hyperloop to USA through Russia and Canada. It is building in Africa Russia Asia south America. It already owns the consumer product market of the world. It is according to some methods the richest country in the world and in a few years time five at most it will be number 1 in all measuring techniques. And it is also building a mega metropolis with 100 million people plus making systems that push rivers to their dry regions in the north and letting them naturally converge back in the south. Yeah China is doing amazing work.

Just a guy who doesn't want to be bored. Also

As long as Trump pays for my college everything will be fine

Even the old soviet union still traded with the world in many goods. You can have a communist government and still manufacture and export. The fact is China does it a lot better than the old Soviet Union but in principle it is the same just China has more open borders. A communist or democratic government can operate a capitalistic economy. China is also building up its military as it's wealth increases. Considering the human rights atrocities in China and the exploitive way they operate in parts of Africa I don't believe their rise in power is safe. It would be better if countries outside China were competing more with China. That could be other parts of Asia, South America, India and Africa. That would be more stabilising for the world at least politically. These things do change. Japan took a large amount of industry from the US and Europe but now they have fallen back considerably in only a few decades. There was a time when pretty much most electronics were coming out of Japan and now its pretty rare to find 'Made in Japan' on such products. Things can change especially now that China is becoming less competitive than many other economies.

Also during the event, a lot of the products shown as "Made In America" had "Made in China" tags right on the products....wow.

Could it possibly have been just the tags were made in Gina? The Made in America ones and then they were affixed to products which were in fact made in the States?

But yeah @OP

I just started laughing at unable to find qualified Housekeepers in all of America, that's amazing.

I think there will be a power shift from Europe and North America to Asia. These things change. The west has had it's time for 100s of years now they'll get the back burner sooner or later and I think its sooner rather than later

Do we have a list of VGC members who are Trump supporters?

On topic: Trump represents the American dream like no other person. Incompetence and lies can take you to the top.

Hmm, I guess you could start a list if you really felt like it!
