I like to see interesting topics besides video games hit VGChartz, and I thought music is a good place.

For fellow musicians, what instruments do you play, how long have you played for, and how far are you into your career?

I've been playing piano for around 6 months. It's gotten significantly better since summer ended. I've finished the 1st movement of moonlight sonata, für elise, and a few others. I've also done a few arrangements.

Nothing spectacular, but I'm rather happy. I've never done much with music, so even learning alone is good enough for me.

I played an instrument from like 11 to 15 on and off - the guitar, and i never got much better at it at all. I hate my life.

I start play piano around 2-3 years ago and I think I'm quite decent, already tried Moonlight Sonata 1st and 2nd movement but the 3rd movement is so damn hard. I rarely play classic music since I mostly play video game soundtrack on my piano.

For my other instrument I play guitar over the last 5 years although my guitar skill progress slower than my piano skill but at least I can play some simple song. I also learn to play recorder and it's way easier compared to the other two.

A handheld gamer only (for now).

I played guitar from about 13 to 17. I wasn't very good at it, so I lost interest. I've thought about picking it up again lately. But, I think it would annoy the hell out of my wife, so I probably won't.

Piano for about 10 years, on and off. Was never really good and never really liked the piano anyway, so I sort of stayed mediocre.

However, ukulele, for about a year now, which I love.

Don't play in a band or anything (used to jam with friends but never went beyond that) but I've had a drum set for like 15 years that I don't often use especially these days though I do return to on occasion. Not often though as it either would piss off my family or wake them up if they're sleeping hehe. Still, I'd say I play at roughly an intermediate level.

Also have a bass that I've only recently started to teach myself, but I can play some basic stuff on it. Still at a beginner level on that one.

I've always wanted to pick up a ukelele, and a banjo for that matter lol... you totally need to play ukelele de chocobo from Final Fantasy IX!

I'm currently learning "Kiss" by Prince haha.  Don't know what that song is but I'll certainly look into it, FF9 is one of my favorite games!

But yeah, it's a great instrument.  I'm a big reggae fan and I just love the island sound it has.

I played the bagpipes for a few years, then on and off for a few more. A more demanding job plus a newborn have put a stop to my practising for the time being. Hopefully I can resume sometime next year.

Don't play anything, never really played anything either. I am not that musically inclined, but I do eventually want to play the drums.

Unfortunately drums are not an option right now, so that is on the backburner for my later years.

I played the panflute for less than a year, was my parents choice, I was 10. Tried keyboard after that, however I soon was more interested in programming in the music instead of playing it. I couldn't figure out how to play with 2 hands, programming is a lot easier. So I dabbled a bit with midi music, later mixing some mods, and occasionally messing around a bit in different music creation programs and games. I quite enjoyed making music in Pixeljunk 4AM and Fract OSC. So nothing serious nor any good.
