Forums - General Discussion - Senator John Mccain has Brain Cancer.

Feel sorry for him, but given the way he was asking questions on that Comey hearing, it now makes sense.

Yeah I under stand that. She also never had surgery they couldn't remove the tumor becasue of it's location. So she had radiation therapy. Now she is cancer free and fortunately suffered no major side effects from the radiation. Her vision became worse, but besides that she's fine.

oh that's great to hear that radiation therapy had such amazing results in her case

Just read an article a few days ago about how his condition was "fake news" and that there was really nothing wrong. I wonder if it's still online.

In any event, I hope he's okay. I think the he could have been President if his party didn't decide to insult the public with their choice for a running mate.

I looked into his type of cancer, and it isn't good. 5 year survival rate is 3-5%, so the prognosis isn't good.

Hes 81 but still... that sucks.

He knows hes most likely gone within 2-4 years.

This is when you sell your house and cash in, and just go on a spending rampage, do anything you have on your bucket list.

Pretty sure that was his choice... although his other top choice, Lieberman, wasn't much better.  I agree in hindsight I think he would have been a great president.  I did vote for Obama back then though... I think I just had bush fatigue... also the economy was such a big issue and McCain was pretty weak in that area.

Even though I frequently disagree with him, I've always admired his willingness to break partisan lines, as well as his determined, unshifting opposition to anything resembling torture, even when it is his own party that's engaged in it. I hope he's able to beat these substantial odds; cancer is just such a terrible, horrific thing.
