Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo Switch Sales in the end?

I think it will close up to 85 million, quite frankly. Nintendo will probably support the Switch for longer than they did with Wii and Wii U and with better first party output.

Around the Network

Its a tricky system to predict for, since we don't know the (type of) revisions and how/when Nintendo will transition to Switch 2.

With Nvidia as the chip vendor, Nintendo might be pressured to feature their newer mobile tech. This isn't small time DMP where Nintendo has stronger control of the deal, we simply don't know what the partnership details are with Nvidia.

Basically, Switch may replicate the GBA, great sales yet interrupted due to next gen HW. If Switch 2 launches holiday 2021, OG Switch could be around 60 mil by that time and max out around 70-75. However if Nintendo rides out the revisions with moderate upgrades until next gen in 2023, it could flirt with 100 mil. Whats clear IMO Switch > 3DS in sales power (more expensive, yet will not require price drop unlike 3DS) and as a product overall, so it depends on the life span and support.
