A healthy discussion about a piece of news?

A great discussion where the only answer is already baked into the OP and everybody else is being baited.

Like a healthy discussion about how people feel about being able to breathe.

And?As far as I know, breathing is a pretty good feeling and people can have different experiences about it.Have you ever tried breathing on top of a mountain?Pretty different than breathing on the beach. You can have a healthy discussion about it!

Much like breathing, the discussion is not about if you breath or not, but how good would you feel if you breath in a different place or in a different way.The same thing is being discussed about in here, but about KH III and how would you feel about a Switch version! So join the discussion. Its fun!

I think if you're a fan you should get a ps4 cheap this holiday and enjoy it. No point worrying about potential late ports and that. Just enjoy the games you love.

The collections aren't going nowhere:

What do you mean? That the collections are exclusive to PS systems, and thus wont be ported? No.If they arent ported, that wont be the reason.

The only reason its listed as only on PS its because of that, Square decided to only make for PS for now, not for some obligation to Sony or something of the sort.I mean, in that collection there are games that were made on Nintendo systems, or at least the cinematic part of it.The same goes for 2.8.

Its listed as Only on Playstation because thats true for the moment. If Square wants to port them over, they will.I mean, look no further than this thread!Nomura himself said that it is possible to release the collection to other systems. It may be PR talk about bringing them, but if he says that there is a possibility, then it means with 100% of certainty that there is no exclusivety deal with Sony with the collections.

Same goes for many japanese games that only release on PS.They arent releasing on other systems because they cant, its simply because at that moment, they choose not to, for a myriad of reasons.

Only on Playstation means that's its an exclusive. If there was a slight chance it was going to be released on any other platform, it would'nt have the "only on playstation" on the cover. Just look at Nioh, that's only available on PS4 as of now, but doesn't have the "Only on Playstation" on the cover, because there hasn't been any exclusivity deals there, so it might still release on another platform.

It should be on there. Would easily outsell the Xbox One version. Would be nice for those who want the handhelds, series seems more Nintendo oriented anyway.

When has KH ever been "Nintendo oriented"? The main series has always been playstation exclusive.

But thats for the moment.Nioh isnt exclusive because there is a PC version.Putting a "Only on Playstation" is simply a good marketing angle for Sony, but its not because Sony payed or anything for it to be exclusive to PS systems.Or at the very least, its not confirmed or anything. Its simply Square that decided to just make one version, and Sony ran with the exclusive angle. To further clarify and demonstrate that fact, here is a part from the ign article where they interviewed Nomura:

Kingdom Hearts 3 director Tetsuya Nomura says a Nintendo Switch version of Kingdom Hearts 3 or Xbox One versions of the Kingdom Hearts HD I.5 and II.5 ReMix or Kingdom Hearts HD II.8 Final Chapter Prologue collections could be possible in the future, but only after existing versions of Kingdom Hearts 3 are complete.

He says that another version on other systems is possible, thus not only implying, but straight saying that there is no exclusivity deal to PS systems.Hell, 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue contains DDD, which was a 3DS exclusive for many years.See where Im going? So no, the label "Only on Playstation" is not a 100% garantee of exclusivity, especially with the meaning exclusivity got nowadays.

Days, Coded and Dream Drop Distance were first on Nintendo systems. With the possible exception of Coded, they are all main entries on the franchise, since they all they vital story points for the main story. You dont need a number of the title for it to be a main entry.

When did Nioh ever get a PC version?

also, as far as I remember, not a single game with the "Only on Playstation" on the cover, has ever been released on non-playstation platforms.

hell, not even Crash bandicoot N. Sane trilogy has it.

They don't put it on there, unless it's confirmed to be a lifetime exclusive

Sorry about the Nioh part, got confused. It was Nier that has a Pc version.

In any case, if that were the case, then Nomura wouldnt have made that comment. Not to mention that, in those collections, there are Nintendo games that were once exclusive to Nintendo systems. So there is precedence there. And since when a game is exclusive to any given system lifetime?Eventually, even if its after years and years, they are ported to newer systems, and collections are made and made available to different systems. And the collection has been released for some years now(the 1.5 has been for about 2,5 years, 2.5 for about 1,5 years) So again, precedence.

Im not saying it will happen. But if it dosent, its not because of some exclusivity deal that Im almost certain dosent exist(DDD was a Nintendo exclusive. But that didnt stop the game being released in the collection on PS4, for example).Sometimes companies just make a decision to make a game exclusive to a system due to a number of reasons. This one was likely made because good part of the KH fanbase is on PS, Wii U was a failure back in the day, and the Switch success got everyone by surprise. There are also reasons as in that companies prefer one system than another, and Square is known to make some questionable decisions about where to release their games.

Pretty sure every KH fan already got their PS4 since they released 2 KH remix edition on the system.

Every KH fan didn't buy those games so that logic doesn't work out.

Disappointed. It would mean the PS4 and XB1 versions got scaled back.

??

Essentially they would have to scale back the scope of some aspects of the game for it to be able to run on Switch.
