I just beat The Evil Within an hour ago, so I can finally give an informed answer!

Both are good, but Resident Evil 7 is the superior package. That said, it really depends on what you're looking for. RE7 plays a lot like the earlier RE games, just in first person and with a dash of hide-and-seek gameplay. The Evil Within is more of an extension of RE4, with a lot more stealth and survival thrown in.

RE7 is also a scarier game. TEW has a lot more gore and atmosphere to spare but it doesn't have that sense of dread that makes RE7 so suffocating.

I'd recommend playing both, if you have the time and resources! Good hunting!

I think RE7 is superior. Now I've yet to play RE7, but I have played TEW. The biggest problem I had with The Evil Within is the fact that they consistently lay traps throughout the game that can one shot you. It's extremely unfair. A lot of times these traps will be in a dark corridor where you can't even see in front of you and than BAM! You're just like "What!? I couldn't even see that". Very much enjoyed it, but the cheapness of the game really hindered the fun factor imo.

Neither. Resident Evil 2.

I would wait for the remake

If you need remakes to enjoy games sure.

Resident Evil 7.

Well... i completely dropped RE with RE7.

I mean the revelations sub-series still interests me, but i don't enjoy first person horror.

The evil within i have but havent started playing yet, but i am pumped for the evil within 2. It looks amazing!

RE7 forever impressed me. Evil Withing is like a hollywood horror movie. It sure has the looks, but boy, oh boy, it lacks in substance

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

I automatically assumed I'd skip RE7 after finding out it was going to be first person, even after the demo. When I played the demo in VR, my opinion turned. I'm glad it did because the game was (to me) fantastic! A lot that to do with the VR implementation.

Unfortunately, with the current support that VR has, I can't recommend anybody spending hundreds of dollars on a headset to experience it.

RE 7. For me, it saved the franchise, and the Bakers are freaking awesome. I hate how people won't give this game a chance simply because it's in 1st person. Personally, I think the new view makes the game a lot more immersive. It makes me feel like I am the one trapped in this madhouse with the insane Baker family.

What about people who won't give it a chance because it hasn't got zombies?

Dying Light was in 1st person and I loved that, but that had zombies...

Bet Shiken that COD would outsell Battlefield in 2018. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=8749702
