Dragon Ball Z? You joking? In any case I'm surprised Hunter x Hunter (2011) wasn't brought up first. Easily one of the best cartoons ever.

Only 2 or 3 people brought it up, which saddens me because it's easily the best of its genre

I'm on episode 7 of death note, it's good but so overly serious and they have to spell everything out so detailed like, Is it just bad translation or wha...?

Depends, are you watching it on crunchyroll, netflix, etc or from some random fansub? Either way, the show has a lot of serious/dense moments so yeah... you could post screenshots of these translations :d

I can think of plenty.

Western
King of the Hill
Futurama
Avatar: The Last Airbender
Star Wars: Clone Wars (Genndy Tartakovsky)
Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law
Ed, Edd, and Eddy
Johnny Bravo
Teen Titans
Though I haven't seen it yet, I hear Samurai Jack is fantastic as well

Anime
Samurai Champloo
Cowboy Bebop
Naruto
Clannad
Bleach

Samurai Jack is very different compared to most cartoons (and anime). It has a lot of moments where it focuses more on the background noises than the actual characters. It's very refreshing to see different takes on animation, but it isn't for everyone.

The last season was also a bit strange. The first three episodes may be regarded as one of the best examples for the animation industry. From episode 4 to the season finale, people become divided on the ending to the show. Some people enjoyed the ending, others didn't

Rick and Morty and Steins; Gate are truly awesome. About DBZ... I dunno, I feel like it's a bit overrated. The first series is better imo. It has way more charm.

Well, about your question... Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Gravity Falls, Death Note (the first season above all)... are just some examples that cross my mind. I though they were fantastic.

No, dubbed version. It's good but what i mean is the dialouge is overly technical without much subtlety in the infromation given. Light and L's monolouges are more like instructions on the back of a packet of soup, know what I mean. There are better ways to tell a story than to go write to the detail, it feels condesending and more like an Arthur C' Clarke novel than the art piece it is presented as. Still, really good.

I watched D.N like 10 years ago so I don't remember everything to detail but don't think I had the same issue. Perhaps the dub didn't have great translation? Do you not like japanese with subtitles? in my experience it's always better except for Dragon Ball Z, lol

Just thought I'd give it a mention, didn't see anywhere in here.

Golgo 13.

A film? Is it as serious as it looks or does it have homour and good vibes?

A film and 4 seasons.  4th best selling Manga of all-time. Longest running.  Kind of serious since it's about a hitman.  It has it's moments.

Natsume Yuujinchou is the best animate series of all time period. So that and the Monogatari series.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

If you like Dragonball, u might like 7 Deadly Sins.
Rick and Morty is similar to Futurama.
Steins; Gate is unparalleled.
