Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Lol, what? Those are all so different that asking us to come up with similar anime is odd.

Anyways, Fullmetal Alchemist, Jojo's Bizzare Adventure(kind of like Dragon Ball), Kino's Journey(like Steins;Gate in it's character), Neon Genesis Evangelion etc

Madoka Magica, Monster and Fullmetal Alchemist

I'm not so much into anime but my fav anime besides steins gate is gurren lagann

I'm asking for a rival, These three are by far the best ever made. It is the wittiness mixed with the seriousness and intelligence than combines them. They are not different at all if you think about it, all break the barriers and limitations of the universe, all are comical, all deal with strife and an underlying message, all are brilliant beyond belief. I'd add blame, Akira, Goats in the shell but you see these all lack one of the three combining elements, the wittiness.

Well I've never seen Dragon ball and I just saw one episode of Rick. But Rick and Morty isn't an anime, it's a cartoon.

Gurren Laggan is kind of like that, but if you aren't familiar with anime you'd probably not understand the point of the fanservice. But yeah, mostly Neon Genesis, Fullmetal Alchemist, Kino's Journey, and Jojo. And Hunter x Hunter, though it's not witty.

Fullmetal Alchemist is probably the best show of all time when it comes to underlying themes all connecting to one grand point. Fullmetal Alchemist doesn't have "one theme" - it feels like a bunch of related themes all mixing into one big theme. But, to get the entire appeal of the show, you have to watch the different adaptations - FMA 03 and FMAB. Both are flawed but FMA 03 and FMAB are both great.

Mother fucker Dragonball Z was a terrible anime if you read the manga first, shit fillers with fucked up art everywhere even when they redid it and branded it remastered. That shit shouldn't be on the list at all. You want a good one, Code Gease S1 and S2, S3 is now in the making, and there are actually a shit ton more, most of Studio Ghibli's stuff are good, I can start naming them from the 60s TBH, it's a long long long list.

Oh and the new DBZ Super is fucking terrible too, the fights are better done than the older stuff thanks to CG now but the story is everywhere, like wtf.

Avatar the Last Airbender
Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Hunter x Hunter (2011)
Code Geass
Shinsekai Yori

But DBZ though?... really?
