Simple question. Do you prefer the orchestrated soundtrack of the Mario Galaxy series or do you prefer the jazzy song in the recent Mario title such as 3D World/Odyssey?

Definitely Super Mario Galaxy, though that doesn't mean 3D World's soundtrack was bad.

Yeah, although 3D World soundtrack is more fun to hear, for me it was less memorable compared to the Galaxy soundtrack. Still, I think jazz music will suit perfectly for a Mario game.

The style of music for 3D Land/World is perfect for them, an epic orchestral soundtrack like Galaxy just doesn't fit with the more arcadey style of those games. Yeah it was less memorable, just as the games themselves will be less memorable than Galaxy.

Galaxy's soundtrack will never be matched by other Mario games. They could try a hundred times, but that soundtrack was born out of planet alignment (pun intended).

Galaxy series by far; still two of the best video game soundtracks I have ever heard.

3D World's music was like the game itself; good, but kinda forgettable.

Don't have the full OST of Odyssey yet so can't say for that game, but I still prefer Galaxy over World

World has some great songs, but imo can't beat Galaxy's OST

Idk as a kid Mario Galaxy REALLY BORED ME. Although the music was great

Galaxy > Odyssey > 3D World

mainly because right now Odyssey only has the one amazing track from the E3 trailer. i would need to play it and hear more before i say whether or not its better than Galaxy

I preferred the Galaxy duo's soundtrack, but honestly feel that 3D World had the better soundtrack for a Mario game. I mean, you could take any given Mario game, be it old or new, and throw in 3D World music, and it would fit. With Galaxy's orchestrations, it seemed like those were the only Mario games where they could really be used correctly.
