Sounds cool. I would go a bit further and made it holographic! Only people having HoloLens could see it!

For the drug smugglers we would have to let them know tho, because those idiots will end up just walking or passing the drug straight throught the virtual "wall" instead of making the effort to throw the stuff over it...

If the situation was not something you know or cared about before, why would you care now.  In other words, Trump made it an issue so now you are aware of an issue but still lack a lot of information to make an informed opinion on the subject.  Now you speak about the subject with limited information and its someone else fault you did not know enough to make a comment.

There are a lot of jobs that pay under the table and you can believe they do not include illegal immigrants.  Not putting my business out there but I definitly have exclusive information on many such jobs and none of the people getting paided were illegal immigrants.

Trump didn't make me aware of shit.   If you have never heard of the underground economy or act like it doesn't exist then it isn't my fault.  If you don't know companies (construction and meat plants especially) hire illegals and pay them under the table then you don't know shit.  It's hard to gauge the underground economy so there is no point in pursuing any further discussion about it but it is fucking there.  I believe the companies just need to be hit harder on the practice.  Fine the shit out of them.

Look, I know first hand about your so called undergroud economy and I can assure you they hire anybody not just illegal immigrants.  Hell, illegal immigrants probably only make up less then 10% of the people who are getting paid under the table.  People getting paid straight cash for services and what not has been going on for a very long time and illegal immigrants, the ones you may think are coming from South America is a very small percentage.  When all is said and done we will still build a wall for no real gain to the economy or any impact those this underground train.

If you google border walls, most pictures are of fences that have gaps or are "transparent" in some way. They aren't these Great Wall of China clones. They are tall steel beams that are too close for someone to sneak between, but a gap to see through.

It's not complete.

Tell me if you had a dog and you put a fence around your house yet left huge gaps in that fence, how effective is that fence. Might as well not even have a fence. The dog will be able to come and go as he pleases.

I agree with you.  Trying to complete a wall that not only is impossible or extremely difficult in some areas due to geographic  conditions is pointless and a waste of money which solve little to nothing.  I'd be for more cameras and agents which would be more effective.  However like you said it wouldn't affect things like people getting paid cash.

Its a cop out. He wanted a real wall. But now its too expensive and he says he wants a transparent wall. So basically a fence.

And don't forget Mexico will pay for it. But it has now been turned into the USA will pay for it, with Mexico paying for it later. (I doubt it will happen.)
