I've been brainstorming a few new series of articles for the site lately. Before I moved forward, I wanted to get the perspective of the community here.

Here are the options:

A) Retro Rewind
This series would review retro games, probably 2nd-5th gen games. This would follow a similar structure to reviews of modern games, with a simplified "buy, rent, or skip" verdict at the end.

B) Re-View
This series would take a second look at games already played. The author would replay a game first played years ago, and then explain how the second impression matches the first. Has the game aged poorly? Has it stood the test of time? This would be a more informal/confessional series.

C) Both
If they both sounds good :)

What are your thoughts? Is there another series of articles you'd like to see? The writing team is always looking for new and creative ways to entertain and inform. And we want to provide a product worthy of the amazing community here. Thanks!

Both sound good. Though if I had to choose one only, I'll go with A.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

I've always thought that doing a sort of second go round review of a game, a couple years or so after release would be interesting to do. Especially these days where games evolve so much over time (often because they release unfinished, if we're being honest).

So I'd definitely go with B. I doubt looking back at retro games would create much more than nostalgia articles in most cases.

I've always been interested in things like re-view. There are many games that stand strong after a couple years and many others that feel awful.

D) Neither

Actually, I like the sounds of both of them. I think the idea of going back to a game and seeing if it holds up or not is a good one.

I think option B would be better, tbh

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

I like the sound of B the best I always like to see what opinion others have on games that they have recently replayed and if they enjoyed/disliked it more and their opinion of how the game has aged can make interesting reads, I'm not all that interested in A as there are plenty of reviews and information already out there or I played/was around when the games released I'm also not keen on the buy, rent or skip scale when reviews use them.

Re-view sounds really interesting.

Please, when u say retro do some lesser known gems, like from the arcades or PC Engine. I dont really care about the millionth article about Sonic, Mario or Zeruda.
