If we compare BoTW to the FIFA and CoD that PS4 launched with it looks like its already beat their lifetime sales. It should beat both of them combined by the end of the year.

If BoTW sells over 11m it will have beat the XB1 and PS4 versions of FIFA 14 (4.2m) and CoD:Ghosts (6.77m) combined.

Why would that comparison matter when talking about the best selling game this year?

Good to hear. I'm not a Zelda fan, but I enjoy watching my brother play it sometimes. I do think it's going to easily outsell horizon if not this year, then next. That's no knock on horizon though as I loved that game and it's also good to hear that it's doing so well because that means they'll produce more of that series in time.

On the topic of Mario Odyssey.... Yea, that game is going to outsell both of those in due time. I'm not sure if it will by the end of the year because it does come out pretty late, but it'll definitely sell a ton. My older sister already wants me to buy it just so she can play it, never been a Mario fan either.

What makes Zelda's sales even crazier is that for the first couple of months it was essentially a $360 game, and on a system with severe supply constraints to boot.

I'm comparing games that are going to be released by the end of the year.

fifa 18 on PS4 alone sold more than 9.5 millions from the end of the September 2016 to December 2016.

And It seems for this year, FIFA 18 will break that barrier.

Breath of the Wild is a game you by a Nintendo Switch for.

It's always good when the best seller is a really good game and not the same, n-th trite rehash of a FPS or sports franchise. Gratz Ninty, and show doubtful devs and publishers the good way!
