I'm so relieved that Sansa and Arya didn't fall for Bailish's tricks... He was definitely one of the more interesting characters throughout the series, but if they'd been turned against one another that easily in such dire circumstances it would have basically invalidated all of the growing and maturing they've done over the past six seasons.

Otherwise, it sure would have been nice if that long awaited Jon Snow/Dany bang session (I imagine fulfilling the dreams of hundreds of fanfictions) didn't take place with Brann basically explaining how it was incestuous all throughout... turned an eye candy scene into an "ewwww" scene lol

Acting and writing were on point this episode. I'm sad the season is over, but hopefully next season will involve less teleportation.

I dunno what Petyr Baelish and Varys fates are, but damn, their characters have been assassinated, they can both die any moment and no one would miss them.

Petyr has gone from manipulating god damn kingdoms to trolling Arya and Sansa. If he ends being killed in the north it will be because the writers have decided to make him the dumbest character on the show.

Meh.

Quoting myself to emphasize what I said earlier.

What a ridiculous way to let Petyr Baelish go, horrible, just horrible writing.

What was he trying to achieve anyway? Get Sansa to kill Arya and then what? What was his end-game here? Yeah, nothing. Just trolling the sisters with no long term plans, the writer forced a "twist" that everyone saw coming. Fuck off. Having Sansa and Arya turn on each other was artificial as fuck and just a big waste of time. Having Petyr, the man with so much to hide, hanging around the three-eyed raven AFTER he experienced Bran's magical powers first hand is just... stupid.

As for the rest of the episode, I dunno. King's Landing is always interesting, but a lot of the conversations and "pair-ups" didn't feel organic at all. I did fear for Jamie's life for a moment, Cersi could've done it, so the tension was real. This was the best moment of the entire finale.

By the way, why haven't Danny asked for Yara and Ellaria sand's lives to be spared? You know, her alies, the ones that were captured trying to win her wars, and trying to achieve the most difficult mission that Danny and Tyrion had assigned to them. She couldn't have saved Olenna but she can try and save these two at least.

Whatever. The highlight of this season is Lady Olenna last breaths, the rest is "Meh".

I must dig through my old posts and find my impressions after the sixth season finale, a huge difference between now and then.

When someone tells you they can't have children, is the natural follow up comment "How do you know?"

Possibly after being told that like 3 times.  I can tell you from experience, that questioning the source can sometimes reveal that the source isn't reliable.
Conveniently Dany happened to be one of few people who didn't learn that through experience and from the evaluation of a maester, but in this case it just happened to be the word of a witch, so Jon didn't come off as an insensitive asshole for asking what normally would be a pretty dumb question to someone you don't know intimitely.

um, ok lol
And then he goes on to discredit the witch, so that the TV series can bypass the rules that GTRR Martin established many seasons ago, and get her pregnant.

Major assumption here, if Dany gets pregnant in the books then the rules are not bypassed, also we don 't even know if she will get pregnant.
She was supposed to "break the wheel" but now it seems it will go back to the usual system where Tagraryens rule and succession passes on to their children.

And she probably still will, Targaryen ruling has nothing to do with "breaking the wheel"
I also question the writing in regards to Jon's name. They chose the exact same name as one of his siblings. Who is supposedly alive in the books, and this just seems like like the TV shows unnecesary take on that character.

Probably the whole "Yara" situation.

I'm sorry, what was the point of your comment? lol

littlefinger dying was so sattisfying, wedding between the dragon and the wolf also, so many good things, 10!

Didn't like episode 6 at all, but this final episode was awesome. Intense dialogue, a brewing tension throughout the entire episode. Littlefinger had it coming of course, kind of pathetic how he begged for his life though. Jon boning his hot aunt is major props. I'd do the same.

Gotta love the trend this season of throwing all movement realism out the window.

Also, are you sexually attracted to any of your aunts? (or uncles)

Yeah that wasn't really clear.
Get everyone in Sansa's life killed so he could manipulate her more easily when she is by herself? But no one ever had to point out to her that she shouldn't trust Littlefinger. She was always the first one to acknowledge that. And he should know that she doesn't trust him, and never will after what he did to someone else he claimed to love.

It seemed like his ambitions were far higher than just Sansa previously.

That's how his story ends?
Begging for his life after failing to get rid of one Stark girl, when his ambitions seemed much more grandiouse before.

That said, the way he died still felt satisfying in some ways. But rushed, and not due to the circumstances I would have expected of someone with his ambitions.
For all his talk of climbing the ladder of chaos, he was stuck at the lower steps aiming for Sansa.

Varys on Petyr:

"he would see this country burn if he could be king of the ashes"

Petyr to Sansa:

"Every time I’m faced with a decision, I close my eyes and see the same picture. Whenever I consider an action, I ask myself will this action help to make this picture a reality? Pull it out of my mind and into the world? And I only act if the answer is yes. A picture of me on the Iron Throne… and you by my side."

In what world him being Sansa's bitch for the entire time would've gotten him to the iron throne? All his actions pointed to his death by the end of the season.

He loved Catelyn very much but it never stopped him from being one of the smartest and most ruthless characters on the show. Petyr was assassinated long ago. So was Varys. The spider is lurking around waiting for his death scene to happen sometime next year.

The final episode was absolutely superb from beggining to end, after the mild dissapointment of the last one they totally delivered with this one, Game of Thones at its best. Well done HBO.
