Forums - Sales Discussion - Xbox sales seem way too low, 5:1 is crazy.

It's not like these companies can just pull a bunch of great titles out of their ass at the drop of the hat, We know what they have in the making.

PS4's gaming library is so far ahead there's just no chance of other catching up, and that's ignoring the fact that the difference is set to grow larger over the next two years.

Libraries take time to fill and clearly the Switch isn't finished nor is it's library finished. The X1 basically shares it's library with PC and the other systems that it becomes an afterthought in terms of owning the system for just exclusives.

I don't think it's fair to say Switch can never ever catch up, especially when you consider the support it's been getting so far and it's sales climbing.

Get real bro. Nintendo's first party is no where as good as Sony's and to top it off they have almost no worthwhile 3rd party support. How do you imagine it's going to compete with PS4's library?

Look at some telling signs...Wii+3DS+Wii U+Switch libraries combined have 374 games with a 75+ rating on metacritic. PS4 alone already has almost 400. You're really holding out hope that Switch alone will be able to compete with PS4? Please...

Maybe. But I remember back when people were shitting all over PS3 when it was selling below 100K per week at this time of year. So are you suggesting there should be different expectations for what "low sales" are because of the brand of the console?

I'm guessing some peole are saving up for XOX. Not sure that is a substantial reason for the massive difference in sales, but it's part of it surely.

In june of 2010 (same time in it's life as XB1 now) PS3 was selling 150-160k per week. XB1 is selling half that.

You'll note I didn't say same point in the lifecycle, I said same time of year. The same time of year comes around every year.

Nothing to get "real" about. The gen isn't even over and the Switch has only been out for not even a year yet. Also your talk about quality in it's own right is entirely subjective. What is "cream of the crop" to you is garbage to someone else, like how you see Ninty's 1st party.

I like how you included Wii, despite the fact that system sold a ton and made absolute bank as well as slaughtering last gen systems by numbers.

Meta ratings or the highway?, wtf are you smoking?.

Please yourself....

I was aware as someone else had already made mention of

I'm just responding to your reply to me.

US market is the most important market by far for Xbox.
And right now, most americas just want to get their hands on Switch.

I think this captures the Xbox situation well. Switch is still having a lot of good buzz in the media and it is doing well in US. PS4 has had some very good weeks especially in Europe lately. Its the school holidays most likely.

If everything is so blatantly subjective then why'd you even call out the guy who said no one could compete with Sony? that's also his opinion, no?

We need to have some data to have an argument buddy. And I'm sorry but One console having a more highly reviewed games across the industry than 4 nintedno systems combined is a pretty clear sign that Nintendo can't compete. You can claim subjectivity if it was a small difference, but this thing is pretty clear cut, there's no room for your terribly biased opinion here.

PS5 should be out by 2019, or 2020 at the latest, so in 2018 and 2019, I can't see XB1 selling more than 8 million total. They have absolutely no system sellers in the works. 40 million is the optimistic figure we can expect for it right now.

I personally believe next-gen starts in 2020. And then the Xbox One and Playstation 4 will continue to sell for a year or two after that.
Hence 50~ million is entirely realistic.

Talk about libraries all you want, but it's very arguable that Nintendo's first party is better than Sony's. Maybe not at this moment because the console *just launched* lol
