I only brought that up to counter the point someone else made about lots of people saying it would flop.  Not to downplay it's relative success. Let's not push a false narrative here. 

When the release was close there was way more people thinking it was gonna flop than people that thought it was gonna be a gigantic success like Splatoon, specially after the few points the game was getting on COMG

But that's obvious and the way it should be.  By the time release neared those who'd vastly over estimated it's sales had enough pre order data to see it would not be the next splatoon. So naturally they'd stopped proclaiming it. 

 

So there were only really the people who predicted it to sell good and to flop left.

WiiU had holiday ps4 didnt. This shows how strong switch is because it didnt have holidays in it.

 

WiiU did well because it launched in that period of time. Ps4 launched feb

I dont see "how that ended" have anything with what we are talk about. If you remember talk was about sales of W101, your point was that Wii U is was dead in Japan, but fact is that Wii U had much better 1st year than Vita and PS4.

PS4 also had holiday season (holiday 2014) in less than a year, and again made first 1m around 1 year after it was launch and few months after that holiday season. So PS4 had separate launch and separate holiday season in less than year and again needed almost hole year to hit 1st milon.

Lol I love that chart.  It shows while other consoles had much better starts ps4 overcame adversity and is now beasting.  It's defeated the Wii U with ease and the vita will be next.  PS4 in beast mode now.

I don't think you know what beast mode means as its sales are quite low. Wake me when it beats Wii, DS, 3DS , GB, GBA, NES, SNES or PS2.

Both Famitsu and Dengeki are tracking Switch hardware markedly higher than Media Create. Would be interesting to revisit this if and when more official numbers come in to see if we can sort out who is right between these 3.
