Forums - Nintendo Discussion - As a big fan of both Wrestling and Nintendo.. I don't care about WWE 2K18 on Switch

Reversal system: "Too slow" "Too Slow" "Too late" "too slow" "too late" "Just let him pin you, because you know we won't let you reverse"

I seen a few threads regarding WWE 2K18 coming to the Nintendo Switch and calling it "WWE's return to Nintendo consoles". I honestly don't care about it. Pro Wrestling games died YEARS AGO. WWE SvR 2007 is in my TOP 5 video games of all time. The next WWE game is in my top 35 and the most recent game I bought is not even in my top  100.... see the pattern? The last decent wrestling game for me was WWE 2010, after that the whole franchise went downhill.

When I bought WWE 2K17 last October I was dissapointed. When I bought it I thought I was going to have an old classic wrestling game because people thought the games got better since then, so I bought it. I was horribly wrong. When I was playing it, I just sat there tapping the reverse button until I got pinned. Yeah, at times the reversal button did work and I controlled the match but I lost control agian. It wasn't fun seeing myself just laying there until other wrestlers got to have fun. The creation tool wasn't even fun either. I couldn't make my own finisher (probably wouldn't have had the chance to do it anyways since the reversal system sucks). Even with ladder matches, once you fall off a ladder you'll just lay there.... for hours. It wasn't fun just watching your wrestlers get hurt. I dislike the Reserval system. Back then on the N64 days, it didn't matter and thats what made those days much better than the wrestling games today.

And I don't wanna buy it on the switch. I'll be focused on games like Rocket League, Minecraft and other 3rd party games (Yes, ofcourse the 1st party games as well).

As a big fan of Nintendo and Wrestling I'm happy to see WWE 2K18 on the switch. I actually like the realistic gameplay with its reversal system. It just takes a while to master and there is a learning curve but I think its worth it. I like it better than the arcade gameplay.

This is the only wrestling game anyone ever needs.

Woo! Is there old stuff on it? I don't know wrestling after the Rock's era.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

I made one of those threads. I don't care about it being a return to Nintendo systems. I'm just glad to FINALLY have a WWE game that I can bring to work. We didn't get a single one for 3DS and Vita. I'm gonna log in hundreds of hours! When I'm home, I can't dedicate the time I used to to playing career mode, creating characters, etc. This is a dream come true for me. I probably posted several times on Vgchatz that that's the one game I really wanted and today I finally knowI'm gonna get it!

Get 3rd party games.
Someone has to point out that they wont buy said game on the platform.

incredible

Read my last sentence on this thread. jeez.

If we have to be honest some of the last good wrestling games were back as far as the early 2000s.

As a wrestling fan you buy the game because you are a fan and want the updated rosters.

Also let's be honest this isn't about you but everyone. Not everyone shares your opinion.

This is why games like FIFA sell well every year too. They only really evolve every few years.

If 3rd parties released games on the feedback of one person then there be no 3rd party games lol.

To be fair, do not think he speaks for any Nintendo fan, have you seen his other threads? I for one, welcome WWE 2k18 and might actually pick it up, not just because I am fan of the switch, but I am fan of wrestling as well.

Ummm.......what am I reading....
This new reversal system is way more balanced than the one in years past, where majority of the matches were endless cycles or reversals since both players spam right trigger, and casual noobs can destroy you in the process. This one is more skill based and requires timing, but it's not too hard too grasp (you press it as soon you're about to get hit). I was sick and tired of seeing those reversal animations over and over again. Maybe it is hard to jump in from the get-go and have some instant fun, but this is a wrestling sim, it will take some time to master. Putting in the old reversal system is like asking to put burnout-like boost into gran turismo.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Nintendo needs more 3rd party games!

I'm making a topic to tell a bunch of strangers I'm NOT buying a game after I asked for more yay me!"

When  beggars are choosers we get topics like this. Also I don't get the idea to make a topic that you don't want to buy a game. So?
