Pearls?

Around the Network

Fuck off sonygaf. Pedophile enabler website full of hypocrites.

Sort of agree with some of those neogaf posts. Armor that leaves parts exposed is bad design and I wouldn't wear armor that exposed my chest to any sharp objects for example.

That said, I acknowledge these are video games and not real life so I prefer these kinds of armor anyways ;)

Did you know that Amir0x, a former mod of GAF, got arrested for possession of child pornography?

Wow, I've read some garbage in my time but that article is trash.

"Someone didn't like this thing. Someone else didn't like this other thing. Get this, a third person said that they didn't like another thing.

The end."

Now lets take a look at one of the comments that this article was pulling from to really see the rage seeping from these user's who are broken to the core from these character designs:

"That Xenoblade 2 girl"

Wow. I can feel it. I can feel the vitriol and the malice aimed at the designers. I can see the user pulling back in horror.

Oh, wait. No, I can't. There's nothing there.

What, are people not allowed to dislike things now? Every time someone says "I don't like that design" is there going to be someone yelling "Oh, you fucking white knight beta cuck boy. Stop getting so offended so easily!"?

How exactly is someone expressing dislike for something any more "offended" or pushing "wrongthink" than this trash heap?

They all need to check their sexuality imo. I love women. I respect them as well, but I am also not ashamed of my biology. Women are beautiful and attractive to me and I won't apologize for that.

These people to me are just the new breed of the ultra-religious right who were offended by video game violence and thought playing a harmless game was somehow dangerous. Millennials need their own version of that, and since we're probably the least religious generation, this puritanical cultural authoritarianism manifests itself in this way instead...

To me if you are threatened by scantily clad fake digitally rendered women, or threatened by men liking/wanting to see such things, you should probably reassess your priorities in life, and furthermore probably have a screw or two lose. That might be a bit harsh, but that's how strongly I feel about such things..

I recently read a twitter post by some fatbeard that was essentially shitting all over a guy for simply critiquing the attractiveness and overall look of a few designs of female video game characters, and the scarier part was a the post got like 15k likes in addition to a number of replies which seemed to support/agree with him. Reading through it just had be saying "wtf is wrong with this world?"

It's reassuring to me that most in this topic at least seem to more or less be on the same page as me.

While I think we should all strive to create a better, more accepting society for future generations, I also believe that until we get there, we need to teach kids how to deal with the fact that we're not. Part of that is the live and let live idea. Unless someone is overtly trying to hurt someone else, it's their life choice and you needn't worry about it.

The problem all started with the Barney genertion. The 90's kids were taught values and don't work in the real world and alot of them can't deal because of it. They're basically living in a bubble and now that they're in their 20's, they're freakin' losing their minds and trying to change things that can't be changed.

This thread is just proof of that.

I don't think we need a thread based on an article based on a thread on NeoGAF.

Feel free to make a "Worst Female Character Designs" thread though, if you want to have some kind of discussion about this beyond "Fuck GAF".
