Forums - Movies & TV - Shia Labeouf got arrested in my area.

Didn't see a thread on it and I have to go to work in minutes. Google it. I'll try to edit later.

*Edit* It's later.

Anyway, I awoke yesterday to hear that Son of Indiana Jones and friend to Autobots everywhere, Shia Labeouf was arrested in my area. I didn't hear anything of Vgchatz so I thought I'd share the news.

"Actor Shia LaBeouf was arrested in Georgia on charges of disorderly conduct and public intoxication early on Saturday after he became unruly in downtown Savannah, police said.

LaBeouf, best known for his role as Sam Witwicky in the "Transformers" action movie franchise, was in the bustling City Market neighborhood before dawn when he approached a bystander and a police officer and asked for a cigarette, Savannah police said in a statement.

"When LaBeouf wasn't given a cigarette, he became disorderly, using profanities and vulgar language in front of the women and children present," the statement said.

He became aggressive toward the officer when asked to leave, police said, and when the officer tried to arrest LaBeouf he ran into a hotel lobby.

Eventually he was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and obstruction, and booked into the Chatham County jail, authorities said."

Thanks, Aeolus451 for posting the full story!

Well that was full of info OP lol

I like him as an actor but as a person, I'd be happy if he'd just become a shut-in. Too many actors and actresses are piping in on politics or becoming more activist-like which is all ruining my perception of them.

He's an article on the arrest.

I think he was going crazy even before that XD

Anyways shouldn't put too much emphasis on raising stars. The pressure could get to them.

And then they'll be criticized for allegedly helping people stay ignorant.

There's nothing wrong with being an activist. Even if we don't follow these people closely, there's no doubting how much influence they have.

Katy Perry had a conversation with Neil Degrasse Tyson and posted it on Youtube. The level at which she understood science left me speechless- you could tell Neil was on a level she'll never reach. Her understanding of many concepts were so basic and simple, but that conversation basically opened the door for more people to try to become smarter.

Being famous has potential. Tom Hiddleston spends his time helping people in Africa. It's up to these celebrities to actually do something instead of being a delusional crybaby.

On other side of that coin, they can mislead people with their ideas because they're backed up by influence/popularity and not by their soundness of their opinions/arguements. If they present an informative opinion on something, by all means have at it but if it's half-baked hyperbole, they should just keep their mouth shut. If they say something dumb or not well thought-out, they're taking a chance, it could ruin their career by drastically altering their fans' perception of them.
