I hope they never do have a hole in their schedule. Keep busy with new things I say.

True, but I'm sure they'd love to re-release this one. I still think this title underperformed greatly, so a Switch port makes too much sense.

It'd be nice to see what it could pull sales wise, but no second screen would mean drastically more time spent trying to deal with arranging probes and finding quick travel locations, searching areas for nemesis monsters, other small things that the second screen streamlines. Not a deal breaker, but I could certainly see it lowering it's score critically meaning people may be put off buying.
So another rumour Laura Kate Dale pulled out of her ass...
I'd rather X2
But I'm fine with X remaster, since they add some chapters and resolve the story...

She probably heard about xenoblade 2 and thought is was a X port...

It's not doable, the change of architecture alone means that the games need to be ported.
I don't mind ports though, I mean as long as there is enough new games and they are just a bonus.
But yeah, that awful Switch launch window with only Zelda and then MK8 deluxe, that was just shameful.

It would completely ruin the pacing if they remastered and tried to quickly cram the answers to everything in a chapter or two. Essentially what's to answer:
SPOILERS
Who was the second pilot of the prog ares
Who is the main character, and what is his past
Why is everyone alive, essentially themselves if their memories are wiped
Why is Lao still alive, and how has merging with the building blocks of all living things affected him
Who is the black knight
Why can't anyone leave Mira
What is Elma's affiliation, why did she wind up coming to Earth
What is the "Ghost" Federation, and why are they at war with the Galactic Federation
What is the "failsafe" our bodies hold that the Ganglion are so afraid of?
Some ideas for the sequel:
Let us play as the prog ares fighting for the Earth. (Start as the Xenoblade X prequel. An extremely easy way to answer a few of these questions, as well as start the game with a certain tone. Think Sword Valley fight in the original Xenoblade Chronicles)
Introduce campaign online coop (optional)
Let everyone have their own skells or have tandem skells which increases stats of a single skell
More cities inspired by the aliens befriended as well as humans branching out
Essentially this would take 100+ hours to give all these things proper room to breath. The X series needs a sequel.

Agreed. Takahashi can't leave us hanging. Plus I remember in one of the Iwata asks it was said that Takahashi wrote almost a book for this game's plot. Which means he either intends (or intended) to release sequels to flesh the story out, considering what we recieved in X certainly wasn't a book's worth of story.
