You bumped a dead topic to respond to a 3 week old comment that has already been discussed.

It was on the front page, I saw your comment. Why do you always seem angry when you post? That seems like a more appropriate question.

Why is that a problem?
LethalP said: Let's assume it was at 28 million at the beginning of the year, assuming it does 8 million this year should put it at 36 million by January 2018. If we lowball it and say it does 6 million in 2018 (I honestly think it will be 7 million), it should end up at 42 million by 2019. 5 million in 2019 to get to 48 million. So I'm guessing it should pass 50 million before the Xbox 2 is released in 2020. It will be closer to 60 million by the end of it's lifespan. |
It's not doing anything close to 8 million this year. It hasn't even sold a million this year in the states yet. It'll probably sell 4-6 million at best. And much less next year. So 33-35 million by end of year. I'd say about 4-4.5 million next year for a total of 38-39.5 million. And probably not much more than that before the next gen starts.

Never angry. People just misread me as much as I misread them. Couldn't be more relaxed as always. I'm the least serious person around.

That depends on the number of years it will stay on the market. But there are a few very likely facts. |
So at 68 million in 2020? by that perdiction PS4 would have to slow down or do you expect PS4 to sell 136 million by 2020?
LF for XB will be a lil over 50 million, I say it taps out at 55 million, followed with the PS4 at 100 million.
If the PS4 falls off then the XB will also fall off, cant see a reality where PS4 declines while XB rises.
It should just about beat 50m but will be way down on 360 from last gen. Less then half ps4 I predict aswell. If they do next gen I expect their next iteration to sell under 50m and their xbox live subs to decline.

It hasn't even sold a million in America this year yet where PS4 has sold 1.7 million so far. Now with no new gears or halo this year and only a expensive $500 upgrade, im having a hard time seeing xb1 selling 4m this year. I'm now beginning to think it may not even make it to 40 million before Microsoft cuts the 1 short and starts next gen sooner than later. |
Exactly. Without Halo or Gears Microsoft cannot expect a sales boost. This is probably why they are relying so much on the XOX launch. They are marketing the hell out of multiplats and th console.

I can dig it, but I don’t think they can pull off another console before 2021 unless they are working on it this very moment or worked on both 1X and next gen at the same time, which gives them at least 4 years to put out something competitive. Sony on the other hand will have had 5 years from Pro launch to crank out a PS5 with a decent leap forward in tech. MS have a uphill battle if 1X fails to bring them to 50 million. 2 Failures back to back, likely put them into next gen demoralized. As bad as PS3 was it still sold over 80 million.
Crazy to think that XB turned out worse than PS3, a console that launched at $100 more than XB1 and at a time when the global economy was in the shits.
