Here are the numbers for week ending 03/21/2010

Blu-ray climbed back up into the respectable range,  13:87 was the ratio for this week.

Top 20 ratio was 20:80.  Not a great week but with the top 2 movies not being heavy Blu-ray titles kinda hurt both ratios.  Although I was surprised at The Princess and the Frog for doing 22%,  not surprised at New Moon only pulling in 17%,  it was a little higher than I predicted but still a poor showing.

The Blu-ray LOTR trilogy will own all! That will be interesting to see.

I wonder if in 2011 we'll start seeing regular 20-25% Blu ray marketshare weeks.

Here are the numbers for Week Ending 4/4/2010

Blu-ray had a bad week again only pulling in a ratio of 12:88.   Next week should be better with the Lord of the Rings Trilogy Boxset coming out.

Top 20 Blu-ray Ratio is an abysmal 14:86,  barely beating out the total ratio.

Ive kinda decided that from now on, if the total Blu-ray ratio isnt higher that 15% or the Top 20 Blu-ray Ratio isnt higher the 25%, than the week is horrible for Blu-ray. With as long as Blu-ray has been on the market it should be pulling these numbers in on a weekly basis, regardless of the titles being released at the time. We are at the point in Blu-rays life cycle that the big blockbuster releases should be putting Blu-ray in the 25% range for Total Blu-ray Ratio.

Blu-ray came at a bad time, recession and all so i am only slightly disappointed in these numbers.

Blu-ray came without enough amo for it's guns... the only thing that will make it mainstream is if 3D goes mainstream.
