Ah, maybe because this is a Video Game site? PC's have video games, and they also have their own forum. How does Blu-Ray sales relative to a dead format or DVD have anything to do with video games?

If ssj12 wants a DVD (next-gen or otherwise) forum he should take that up with ioi. Until then, this thread should be in off-topic, and it DEFINITELY shouldn't be stickied in the sales forums on a Video Games website.

this has everything to do with sales, this is why its in the SALES SECTION. Just because your partically lacking in mental capacities to comprehend sales in a sales forums you should probably jsut ignore it since it will never go away.

I'm pretty sure if anyone else questioned a member's mental capacity (especially whilst displaying horrible grammar) they would be banned.

Pause for a moment and look at this website's name.  It begins with "VG."  "VG" does not stand for Blu-Ray, DVD or HD DVD.  It stands for Video Games.  So what your actually doing is posting something completely unrelated to video game sales on a video game sales forum.  By your standard, we could just as well start threads up in this forum about microwave or refrigerator sales and expect them to be considered relevant.

If your actually going to stand by what you just said, I expect you'll follow it up by ceding your future right to lock any threads on grounds of relevance?

Well yes VG stands for video games. My grammar, I couldn't care on the forums as long as my PR work, editorials, and news posts for this site are grammatically correct.

Since you want to go into the title of this site and we covered what VG means lets move on to the word chartz. What are chart[s]? typically a chart is collected data presented in a form of a pie chart, bar, or line graph illustrating percentages of data, growth, or otherwise life-time tracking of a product. Charts can also be posted ini a string of percentages and catagories like I have above as long as you source the original chart. Going by this site we track sales.

Going into the consoles 2/3 play the [SD-]DVD format. One played the dying HD-DVD format while the other still plays the Blu-ray format. Due to 2/3 playing one format and 1/3 play the high-def format. Due to this we can legitly track sales for products linked to the game consoles we track.

i bet starcraft is just a bitter little HD DVD supporter and thats why hes knocking this dude for information that someone might find interesting. just like i hate all of your 10,000 threads on Fable 2, do i ever go in them and bitch about how there useless? totaly unrelated, umm... does the ps3 happen to have a bluray player? is the ps3 a Video Game system?

Actually I've never owned HD DVD.  They were only out here in Australia for about a month before they were discontinued.

Do you want to explain why a Fable 2 thread isn't relevant to the the Microsoft video game forum?

Would you consider it reasonable to open up threads on USB ports, as all console's have them?

Given the PS3 also has a DVD player, is a Blu-Ray vs HD DVD vs DVD thread relevant?

No.

actually considering the USB marketfor the three consoles isnt going to ever change it would be pointless.

Marketshare fo the USB part would be constantly at 33.3% between all three. lol

It would only fit in the PC section due to USB 1.0. USB 1.1, USB 2.0. and the upcoming USB 3.0 all fiting for one market. Grant it USB 1.0 is completely dead and USB 1.1 is extremely close to it.

=P

Er, Pooper I've received one warning, it was for something stupid I said (you were part of the thread lol) and I heeded it. I've actually been banned once, but the mod overturned the ban upon reflection.

Despite the impression of me you give, how often do you see me attack a user instead of their arguments? How often do I say something without being willing to back it up (even if you don't like the conclusions I draw?)?/

Hm... every time you call people my cronies because they agree with me and not you. Every time you call someone SDF because they are a Ps3 fan. We all know you are trying to be insulting and use it in a derogatory way.

Flamebait threads that you create. (I know there is more than that too.)

Now lets get back on topic.

So there isn't a problem with calling forum members braindead?

As for the rest, very well.

*heads off to find charts on microwave sales to post in the "website" forum*

Actually, that is the thread I referenced in my post, the one I conceded was a mistake and received a warning over.  As far as I can recall, I have started no other thread that has been labelled flamebait (by a mod) and locked.  ssj12 locked one once because he disagreed with one of my points, but re-opened it upon consideration.

Oh, and by all means find a thread where I have labelled someone SDF without first being called a fanboy or troll.

OT:  DVD is clearly maintaining it's market share in the face of Blu-Ray sales, it would be interesting to see what would happen if we threw digital downloads into the mix.

So I can insult people as long as it isn't direct?
