Also this week when HDDVD market share jumps 20% it should be a good indication of how small the market still is.

or simply the bargin bins have been brought out. They cut off support for the format in 2 months and they need to clear their stock out.

no it indicates that Amazon's $50 rebate and like 50% off HD-DVDs = tons sold.  Stocks should be slowly depeting. I wonder how many copies of each movie was made... geez...

This is exactly what i'm talking about.  If amazon had a sale on DVDs, we would not see a significant in total DVD sales because DVD is a huge market.  Blu-ray/HDDVD is a small market and things like sales on amazon can have huge effects on total sales.  I

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

New Numbers Up, ALTD re-adjusted with a new method.

This thread is to track the weekly sales percentages posted by Neilson VideoScan for Blu-ray vs HD-DVD and Blu-ray vs DVD. Blu-ray vs DVD average life to date (ALTD) totals are done by me as a track of the average of the % since this began.

3/23:  Blu-ray 88%     HD-DVD 12%     LTD: 67/33      DVD 94%    Blu-ray 6%    ALTD: 94/6  -  Source

3/30:  Blu-ray 84%     HD-DVD 16%     LTD: 67/33      DVD 92%    Blu-ray 8%    ALTD: 93/7  -  Source

4/6:    Blu-ray 64%     HD-DVD 36%     LTD: 67/33      DVD 96%    Blu-ray 4%    ALTD: 94/6  -  Source

4/13:  Blu-ray 86%     HD-DVD 14%     LTD: 67/33      DVD 95%    Blu-ray 5%    ALTD: 94/6  -  Source

I'm surprised with those numbers. That week HD-DVD had a better market share but Blu-ray had better market share against DVD compared to other weeks.

it is becasue they DVD vs Blu-ray is top 20 vs top 20 which means that the Top 20 Blu-ray Discs sold really well.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials
