Don't worry, they will surely make it incompatible again if they find a better architecture than x86 to please their fans.

it would be a huge surprise if it wouldn't play PS4 games.
Hopefully they are a little more forward thinking with the Playstation 5 and include CD support this time around as well.
Then they can build out software emulation for all prior Playstation consoles.

Well it would be possible, PS5 should be powerful enough to software emulate the PS3. But it won't happen.
