Prime's textures are not low resolution by the standards of its time and hardware.

It certainly is unfair to use images from an emulator and you should always use images from real hardware. Clearly we will have to agree to differ. Others can judge if they believe Metroid Prime offers realistic and detailed texturing for its day I certainly don't believe it did. Still liked it visually though. 

Upping the screen resolution doesn't change the texture resolution. Whether it is aesthetically "realistic" isn't the point; you claimed its textures were "minimal" and "low resolution", and for its time and hardware, that just isn't true.
