I prefer the brightness and colors of Halo 3, but what do I know I'm just a Wii owner. :p

Graphics-wise, Gears is in a class above R:FoM. It's not even close.

With that said, they're different games and I expect Halo to not look as good as Gears because of the expansive terrain in Halo (and to some extent, R:FoM).

Halo 3 isn't out yet, Resistance is. The 360 has proven time and time again (Gears of War among others) that it can easily hang with R:FoM for graphics, and prove superior. As rocketpig already said, lets compare actual gameplay videos once H3 has LAUNCHED. Either way, no big deal, H3 will get much better sales, and better reviews, regardless of graphics. Still, I care little about both games.

The fact that the 360 can do Gears level graphics doesn't mean that Halo 3 automatically looks better than Resistance when it launches. Also, no matter what Halo 3 will look not even nearly as good as Gears did and that's not gonna change from now in Beta to release in 4 months...
