For those wondering why we're simply criticizing CNN and not defending him, it's because the user is a total piece of shit.

He's a middle aged man (not a teenager) who thinks running around and saying n----r is hilarious. I'll be honest- as terrible as CNN was, I'm hoping people realize that being ass has consequences. What's worse is how he even bragged about the attention prior to CNN stating they would release his info. Guess these people truly are only bark and no bite

Nice. More to come I'd imagine.

Wait till """"CNN"""" """"discovers"""" 4chan's /pol/ and have a field day with it.

The issue is not the man in question, but rather the issue is CNN. CNN isn't going after him because of the N-Word, but rather they're going after him for a pretty harmless meme. You can view this as karma, but in the end CNN doing what they are doing is just wrong. They aren't threatening to expose his identity for the use of the N-Word, but rather they're threatening to expose his personal life over a joke. That's just wrong.

Freedom of speech allows anyone to say whatever they want, no matter how dumb it may be. Whether or not you may be a white supremacist or communist, you have the right to say what you think. However, this doesn't mean there aren't consequences with whatever you say coming to light. People will see you differently if you show this ridiculous way of thinking. This allows us in crazy examples like this just how wrong this man's way of thinking is. I don't align or agree with anything the man stated. I would be perfectly fine if black people went after him for the things he said, but that is not what is currently happening.

The man isn't a role model by any means, but the attempt to shut down free speech because CNN didn't like a harmless meme is its own separate issue.

Is the racist the issue here or a multinational news company using doxxing and blackmail? I think the latter is the bigger issue.

Trust me lawlight, I'm not criticizing the man to take pressure off CNN. I simply want this user to be a lesson for people to learn. If you're worried your internet activity can be traced back to you, then don't be racist.

Regardless of whether he was a SJW or nazi, CNN is still petty for threatening to leave his info in the hands of the public. Chances are his life would turn into hell. As much as I dislike his character, I'd never wish for someone and their family to go through that. Swatting, death threats, and potential attacks against them wouldn't be unlikely

Upset? No.

CNN going after a guy and threatening to publish his information online was the topic. You turned it into "But Trump-" instead of addressing the topic.

You might want to reread my initial post.  Especially the main part, where I addressed the topic.

Seriously, if you're so into Trump that you get mad about someone making a quip that CNN and Trump are both arrogant than you need to step back or seek help.  If you're saying that Trump has nothing to do with this topic then that's just downright silly.  It would also make you a complete hypocrite, as you said nothing to the person to whom I was replying, who took the topic in that direction in the first place.

Except for the part where I voted for Bernie.

I wonder how many of the people who criticized trump for 'promoting violence towards the media' with that tweet are going to also criticize CNN for now 'promoting violence' towards someone who made a gif.

Probably not many i'm guessing since all some people seem to care about is being against Trump no matter what despite how hypocritical it may be.

Where does CNN promote violence?

Some people still don't realize that Trump is the President of the United States. I know. I can't believe myself. But this it how it is, and a man in this position should behave accordingly. What Trump is doing is unacceptable.

Edit: Please read my clarification in the first page of this thread.
