What to do with my summer (read post below)?

We bosses... And yes, I am currently some people's boss... unlike what most people would have you believe, do get worried when our workers start getting overstressed or work more than it's healthy for them to.

Take some time off. You earned it. Nothing else to it besides not wanting to grind you to dust early.

I've been there two times on vacation and it's fantastic
And Tokyo is amazing, I love it

But in the summer I find it too hot there.
April/may and oktober are perfect.

Anyway don't stay at home playing games.
Go out and make some real memories.

Join a gym.

It's the perfect time if you're not already going to one. You can fix meals and let your body recover if you need to adjust to it. Lose weight/gain weight, whatever your goal is. Just take out a months membership and ask for a programme. You'll find it clears your head, and you'll feel healthier and more confident.

I don't see it as a bummer at all. I don't think law should dictate relationships between employers and employees. If Americans want more vacation time, they are free to negotiate for it with their employers.

Not sure how in any possible way it's better for the employee to have 2-3 weeks instead of 5. But ok, to each their own I guess. It's possible to negotiate here as well, but again, I dont see in what ways it's better to start at 2-3 weeks rather than 5.

5 weeks of paid vacation/year?! The standard here in Canada is usually 2-3 weeks.



Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

Here in Sweden most people get 5-6 weeks each year to spend and we have right by law to get 4 of them in a row during June-August if we want to.

By law? Zero.

Zero sick days, zero vacation days, zero maternity leave days, zero holidays. If you are salaried can work you ten hours a day, 365 days a year. 

Companies have option to elect to offer paid time off because it is good business, but I've known people that work at places where they haven't been paid for any off time in five years they've worked there.

I didn't say it is better to have less vacation time.  I said (rather, I implied) that it is better to not have it set by law.  The employee/employer relationship should be up to those two parties, and nobody else.
