Yea sorry about that... for some reason I use turn and turned as the same word in TBS.  I'll make it official by offering the correct phrase in the title.

Anyone get their start for loving TBS with board games such as Chess, Stratego, Risk, Axis and Allies, etc? I believe Axis and Allies was at my peak of board game love (besides being Chess fan for most my life). You know the game is complicated when you have to keep the rule book near your side for any moments notice.

Actually, it went the other way around for me. Stratego, Chess and Risk came after battle Isle, History Line 1914-1918 and some other turn-based games of the 80's.

I have fallen for Wasteland 2 (and also Divinity: Original Sin) I've never been a big fan of turn-based games or combat but I loved the wasteland setting, which is reminiscent of Fallout New Vegas. On my RPGs, I really do prefer action combat but when Turn-based is done right, it is some of the most rewarding gameplay I can recall. Being able to properly execute all my commands and tactics makes me feel real smart-like.

I am ashamed to admit I have never played any FE titles. The switch should change that.

Yeah, I figured as much. I may have to revisit the original Fallout 1 and 2 at some point just because I love the setting so much. There's another Turn-base RPG named Septerra Core that I played when I was a kid (and when I didn't even know english) that has this similar wasteland setting, I think that's where my fascination with the setting began.

I loved worms 2 back in the day. But the one series that keeps pulling me back with every iterations is Civilization. Such a deep and fun strategy game. Only part that makes it hard for me to play now is the time investment to do so.

I need a variation of this game on my switch.

I chose fire emblem because they a great and readily available. My personal nostalgic favorites are Shining Force and Warsong ( Langrisser)
