Ah, that's what's still missing in VR, some good old tbs game. I was already tempted to buy chess ultra for psvr. Relaxing with a good turn based game should be fun.

Civilization used to be my favorite but I'm kinda over it. Perhaps in VR my interest could be rekindled, I could only endure one game of Beyond Earth before getting bored with the same old formula. I love the building up stage, no fan of the destruction that usually comes later.

Valkyria chronicles was great, the first one that is. Worms Armageddon is still fun occasionally. Heroes of might and magic was very good. Transistor's turn based combat was great too. I can't really think of any tbs I played since 2014 :/ No wonder I was getting tempted by a chess sim...

How would Civ in VR even work?

Bet Shiken that COD would outsell Battlefield in 2018. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=8749702

Why would it not work? You float above the ground while viewing the battelefield all around you. It could teleport you to the next location if the next unit is too far away. The low res could be a hindrance, yet I started playing civ when it was 320x200. Transparent virtual touchscreen to issue orders, point where units should go. Select them with headtracking.

Tethered was very good rts implementation for VR. Warpaint looks very basic, it's a start.

Not familiar with many modern TBS games, but HoMM2 and HoMM3 are one of my favorite games of all time in any genre. Also loved old XCOM, Space Rangers, Panzer General, Incubation, Fallout Tactics, Worms, Jagged Alliance etc. Good ol dayz)

NO FINAL FANTASY TACTICS?? FRONT MISSION? GG this...

Dang that's hard... Ogre is what lead to Final Fantasy Tactics, which may be my favorite game of all time, so I'd have to go with that one.

I've played the PS1 and GBA versions and they were good but I honestly think Tactics Ogre on GBA schools both of them.  They should allow us to put a few more options in the polls.

What is this blasphemy?! Where's FFT?!

I suppose it is other.

So is XCOM2 any good? I haven't looked into it at all but I assume it is like Enemy Unknown with slight improvements.

I've put about 12 hours into Panzer Tactics HD (Steam) so far and I can say that its a pretty decent game that mimics Panzer General type of play. Sure the interface has a few issues like when placing troops at start of mission can get a little annoying when you get to a troop that you know you don't want to place such as a Junkers dive bomber (because you know the enemy comes out with fighters in first rounds and you don't want to place them till round 4 or so) but it keeps going back to that unit making you click left or right arrows to get to a different unit to place. So basically just little things that are "holding" the game back. Some other minor things like blur on the top and bottom of screen but that can be turned off in options, and repetitive music (seems to be only one track that goes on a endless loop after going quiet for sometime, I just play with sound off and my own music).

I picked it up for 2.50 on the Summer Sale and I can say it is definitely worth that price. It's a good enough clone of Panzer General clone to not pass it up on a summer or winter sale.
