I love my platformers, bullet hells, and quick reaction time gaming but you know what sometimes I just want to kick back and go through a couple hundred turns on Civ or go mission crazy in XCOM.  So if you are like me and like to chill out while also getting a brain stimulus then this is the thread for you.

What are some of your favorite TBS games/series?  Mine are Fire Emblem, Civilization (3,4,5), XCOM, Advance Wars, Panzer General, Worms, Tactics Ogre (GBA), and many more...

So let me know what's up and perhaps we can get exposed to a series or game we haven't even heard of.  You can even talk about board games such as Axis and Allies.

(Side note: Ogre Battle in poll is referring to the Tactics Ogre games of the Ogre Battle series)

(Sorry to all FF Tactics fans for not having your series in the poll, you can post your frustration in the thread)

Tactics ogre let us cling together is easily my favorite game in the genre and it's a damn shame more people haven't played it. It really needs to be released on other platforms so far it's only playable on the ps1, PSP and vita

It's not a series that I'm very familiar with, but I do want to get into Fire Emblem, and I also plan on playing Final Fantasy Tactics if I can find a copy of it. X-Com also looks cool.

Civilization VI is bae.

I didn't know if I should include Total War in the poll because it has turn based along with real time. I've never played a Total War but I believe I'd probably like it. Seems like a more amped up Heroes of Might and Magic which I played the shit out of 2 and semi working on 5 right now.

Heroes of Might and Magic 3 is a masterpiece and is probably one of the best, if not the best, strategy games of all times.Thats game simply gets every single thing right.

Its such a shame that Ubisoft squandered the franchise to the ground, burned it and pissed over it.Well, Heros of Might and Magic 4 wasnt that great either, so it was probably the lack of talent to begin with.

But yeah, HMM 3 is an unique game.As far as I know, its an one of a kind that no one ever done anything like that before and after.A shame really.Such an amazing concept.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

I never played 3 but I was looking into it on Steam surfering the reviews.  Pretty much Ubisoft gimped the 3 version on Steam while GOG I believe has all the expansions and what not.  So Ubi put an inferior version of 3 on Steam.  That is what held me off from pulling the trigger on 3.  I was first introduced to the series with 2.

I currently only like Fire Emblem series.

After playing TMS#FE, I might get into games with similar gameplay to that. But it has to come to the Switch.

Pocky Lover Boy!

Ogre Battle 64. To me, almost a perfect game.

Well maybe put an other option so people can vote for that (or other stuff)?

Total War games are good though. I much prefer the TBS campaign over the actual battles however. I find that the battles end up getting repetitive pretty soon in to a campaign. Definitely prefer it to HOMM since from what I've played of HOMM it's very much about putting all of your units in to one giant doom stack and I'm not too keen on that kind of gameplay.

Shit I could edit the poll again.  Somehow I left Fire Emblem out of the poll lol..  Uhh I suppose I'll edit it hopefully for the last time.   Sorry guys about fucking with the poll so much.  Gotta get it right I suppose.
