Forums - Politics Discussion - Donald Trump vs CNN Twitter Fight.

Is the President acting un-presidential? Yes. Is the News acting un-news-idential? Yes.

The News is supposed to be factual truth. That's what it was when it started, that's what it was for a long time, and then it was used as a propaganda machine and now is just simply "entertainment".
The President is supposed to be courteous, calculated, well spoken, well dressed, well rehearsed, well mannered, etc. That's what it was when it started, that's what it was for a long time, then it began to be used as a tool for big business, and well now, everyone knows what its become.

So what's the problem? If the News won't or doesn't want to be completely factual and only tell the truth anymore, then there's no reason the President has to act "Presidential" either. It's not like back in the day where the President was always highly respected regardless, and what they said meant everything. In today's world, the News has just as much influence on the people, if not more than the President themselves, so who really is more wrong in this case?

Well the News doesn't have the nuclear codes you say? Want to know who else does? The CRAZY Korean leader who acts like a 10 year old and constantly threatens the world with Nuclear destruction. Yet somehow, someway, it never actually happens.

Trust me. If the News goes back to being "The News", or decides to do the right thing and call the entertainment part something other than "The News", then Trump will stop with the whole "Fake News" thing. Since that's unlikely to happen, expect seven more years of this childish behavior from both sides. The times of "you still have to do your job correctly, even though I'm not going to do mine correctly", is over.

There is not and has never been such a thing as factual truth. Read ten different newspapers and you get ten different opinions. Watch 5 different international news channels with different cultural backgrounds and financial supporters and you get 5 different views on a situation.

Trump likes to fool the simple minded with that whole fake news meme. It's a simple political tactic to defame the political opponent and it works to an extend. That said just because CNN admittedly have exploited that Russia topic doesn't mean there is no truth to it. It's obvious Putin tried to influence the elections just like he tried in France recently or right here in Germany atm...there are dozens of little networks and organisations involved who mostly support right winged parties, all financed by Putin. He has hundreds if not thousands of hackers working for his cause, just like Trump does, I'm certain. All trying to destabilise certain regions on the planet. Be it the EU or the U.S. . Btw if you haven't noticed yet Trump also works on destabilising the EU And taking part in that Syria war is just one way to do that.

Concerning the news channels....Trump is the president and as president, I'd never call him that btw, he has to endure opinions and criticism from the free press! He's the first to critisize others personally but himself can't take a verbal beating at all, such a wuss.

Its a goddamn tweet man. If the American media can't have any sort of decent standards, then they do deserve criticism. Just because he is president, doesn't mean he can't express his negativity towards the media and be forced to act like a robot.

And why the fuck should it matter what the world thinks of Trump? Its not as if they haven't criticized him since day one, so what makes you think people will change their mind?

He's the leader of one of the biggest and most powerful countries in the world. A country which had just regained respect from the world after Bush, thanks Obama. And you think it doesn't matter if he's friends with the world. At least respected?! He's the goddamn president... You really think shutting yourself off will make America "great" again?! Or acting like a 5 year old?! Show some dignity for your position, damnit. Shouldn't you be a role model?! The childish tweeting alone is disgraceful already.

soon he is going to organise naked dirt wrestling matches with fellow politicians. I can also see him promoting a new energy drink called Brawndo...Cause Brawndo's got electrolytes...(if you don't get the quote, Google Idiocracy...and watch it!)

Give me a break. People didn't like him from day one, selling out your entire platform in order to appease a few leaders is a very poor idea. Many western European leaders hate nationalism, so instantly a problem for Trump right there. If you don't like him, so be it. But disagreeing with certain leaders is hardly childish.

Maybe we wouldn't hate him from day one if he wasn't calling Mexicans rapists and criminals?

My point exactly. The recent leak shows CNN is spewing mostly BS to push the Russia story. They also mention they know there's some truth to not only Russia messing the the US, but also the US messing with everyone else's elections for a long time. What goes around, comes around.

Look at 100 different international leaders, all are very different in many many ways for various different reasons. Why does Trump have to be a certain way? If the news is different all over the world, and that's ok, then why not the world leaders?

I find the tweet pretty funny and the media's reaction even funnier because apparently, they don't understand the concept of not feeding the troll.

How this is news-worthy is beyond me. It's as though people just NEED to constantly talk about Trump and whine about/praise every action he does.

It's obvious and understandable most decent people had already lost all respect for him after the type of how he rallied his uneducated sheepl, no offence.

CNN is garbage news anyways.

Yup. That justifies everything. Next thing, he should post a porn clip of him fucking CNN. Perfect reaction from a President of a country.

Guess you don't care much about dignity or class then.

The man has been accused of raping his ex, commonly talks about how he'd want to date his daughter, spent months ranting about how Obama wasn't born here, continued to play golf at a higher rate than Obama (who he criticized), made sexual remarks which can potentially be considered assault, continued the support for Saudi Arabia and its UK/US led bombing, and will act like a bitch whenever he's criticized

Obama never whined whenever people LYNCHED obama dummies. Heck, even during REASONABLE events he always kept his cool. America's government and its leaders will and will always be a joke if people think this is allowable. As much as people disliked Bush, he was still respectable. Obama continued the tradition, and now Trump feels like he should be spending his time on Twitter instead of actually doing shit.

I'd say Trump should be doing something useful, but we all know he'll just continue to 'win' by having his immigration ban be repealed for the 8th time.

We gotta deal with this idiot because people want to stick it to liberals or some dumb shit like that.

I won't lie. My country of origin (Palestine) has a very flawed leader too, but seeing the United States elect someone like Trump makes me sick. Had the DNC not gone against Bernie, he probably would've won

Right. Well I'm sure you know Justin Trudeau, who acts like a suck-up and all. But hey, at least acts like a pushover and opens it to the cocks of other world leaders. You know why I don't give a shit about a few tweets? Because for years, we've had leaders in my country who don't give a shit about it. Bringing in 3 million people a decade in a country with less people than California, selling out to "globalism", and neglected the hollow shell of a middle class that struggles more each and every fucking day. Maybe you think that people don't vote for your choice are "stupid", but I would far prefer Trump than anything we have here. Whatever he was accused of, whatever he says, at least he cares about his country! He could be a shitty leader, and he will be gone in 4 years. Us? Well, we have 3 parties that all want the same thing, but in slightly different flavours!

So no, I do not care if he goes after a media who is no longer reliable and fair. His presidency has been discredited since day one for the sake of ratings, so he does have the right to anger. And lets not compare this with Obama. When the birther movement started, the media rightfully came to the defence of Obama over something that was clearly stupid. But with Trump being a Republican... well, you gotta appeal to your viewers.  What happened to the Tom Brokaw's and Tim Russert's of the media? Hint: Fair journalism is dying.
