CNN has mostly destroyed its reputations as its engaged in fake news...and has spent nearly a week on a meme and acting like a crybaby.

I do agree media should blast Trump but it should do like NYT and others and not sink to the same level as Trump.

So what is Fox News engaged in? 24/7 dihearrea? I never heard any peep from anyone that they were overblowing Hilary's emails.

It is actually fairly dangerous that a president is injecting himself into a free democratic press, because basically really what "fake news" means coming from Trump is essentially "any news I don't like". Which is extremely dangerous to any democracy when the elected officials start censoring any view points they don't like.

Which is really IMO what this is all about. Trump wants a "phony war" with the media to allow for only coverage that is favorable to him.

My point is Trump blasts the media with 'fake news' and when CNN engages in it , people go well 'trump is right'

Not everyone does but when you have more and more people think the media is all fake and useless, that is a danger to democracy.

Because they're intellectually lazy in that reasoning.

First of all there is a legit investigation into Trump-Russia, that isn't "fake news". Every network chooses to emphasize certain stories over others, CNN pushed hard on that story it turned out there was no huge smoking gun (which they were never going to get, how stupid do you think the Russians are? They're very smart).

Fox News runs garbage all day long, year after year, so what is differet now? The difference is it's CNN saying bad things about "Emperor Trump". Well so what? This isn't North Korea, he doesn't get to decide what stories the press covers or with what slant they cover it with.

This is a concerted effort by Trump to tarnish any view point that he doesn't like as "fake". Which is an extreme dangerous thing for a preisdent to be doing. It has no place in a democracy.

Well Obama blamed Fox News for Hillary's loss.

Rusia story is mostly unimportant news to me because it wont lead to anything then increased profits for media, while Trump remains President and continues to destroy things.

Now that CNN engaged in hyping up the Russia story with 'fake news' sort of is making most people go 'either find a smoking gun, or move on to healthcare and other issues'

Eh... if the media wasn't so corrupt and left wing then maybe you would have a point. They aggresively go after the right and we're kinda glad to see them challenged. Its also showing how bias our media is.

I used to think the twitter thing was a waste of time, but the media loves it and it allows him to respond to unfair media. Without it he might just be a punching bag as Bush was.

"Fighting fire with fire" especially in the currently trash tier political discourse is simply unprofessional. As is saying "but but but other people are mean too!"

So far I haven't seen any politician in the US, be it left or right, sink as low as the current president who has been lowering the bar for professional conduct every week since he ran for office.

Well people want the media to be free to say whatever it wants about the president... and I mostly support that.

But the president has to just take it? Eh, maybe Trump showed it doesn't have to be like that and nobody gets it worse than the right.

Nobody has ever been attacked like Trump and he's admitedly not a real politician. But as long as he pushes the agendas of his supporters, he will get support. That's how this works.

Yes the president has to "take it". Every president has done so. That's part of the fucking job, if you didn't want criticism DON'T RUN FOR PRESIDENT. This is like joining boxing and then complaining that you don't like getting punched. What exactly did you think you were getting into?

Obama was trashed non-stop by a lot of people who really basically lost their shit over a black man as president. Is anyone asking for Donald Trump's birth certificate? As long as he pushes policies that a good majority of people oppose he will also always have resistance. That's also how this works.

Yes, the president has just to take it, like every other individual as well. The president has no more power over the media than any other citizen even if he likes to think otherwise. Trying to bash and control media are clear signs of someone who would rather like to be a dictator than a democratic leader.

If anything the president should be even more professional than any other individual in the country. He is doing the opposite right now despite being the top role model of an entire country. If he can't take the heat from the media he chose the wrong office to run for. Which is funny, since he always like to present himself as the absolute alpha male and at the same time is running for his safe space the moment he gets attacked.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Media have mostly discredited themselves as they help Trump get elected in my eyes.
