Forums - General Discussion - Salty losers during online play

Millennials..............To be fair though, in the arcades of the 90's, plenty of people would run away crying after a first round loss in SF or MK. That's how some of us handled it back then. Because we had no choice. It was a brutal world. And it's generational. Like how some people made more pathetic gurgling noises when they were garroted in their sleep during WWI. We are who we are.

You have to look at it from the other side. You don't know how many times the person played. Maybe before your matches, he had 5 other games that he lost. And basically didn't want to waste his time. you're good, I'm crap, move on mode. In overwatch people will quit on the character selection screen. They've played the game hundreds of hours. They know a comp will or not work. They deem the the match a waste of time. They simply DC. I give the team a chance. If we fail. I don't bother continuing on with them. Reque with other people.

They just have to 'git gud' since the game is built around being competitive ...

There's just no other way to go about it. I'm no in expert in eSports but I know I don't have enough talent to be able to become a professional gamer ...

If their just going to get constantly salty for losing then I guess the competitive scene just isn't for them ...

I don't know why but making people rage quit is super satisfying to me. I honestly enjoy meeting super salty players just the fact that I'm so good that it pisses them off is funny to me. On the flip side I never get salty I'll go against someone that kicks my ass forever that's the only way to get better

I don't care if my loss is garanteed I carry on in every Rocket League game.

If I'm playing SFV online and I loss very very convincingly I wont play again simply because it'll affect my ranking and points. In casual play I want to fight people that will beat me.

I love when I meet them in Smash 4. Funny stuff.

I'm also a salty loser, but insulting/disrespecting other people because I suck was not how I got raised.

Oh gosh, playing Smash 4 online made me soooooo angry! I'm just not all that good, I guess. The reality may be brutal, but still. I simply suck at Smash 4.

How do you recognize the salty ones?

Either taunting (a lot), or they change their tags to some nice words.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

...or playing with you nicely for loads of matches then suddenly vanishing from the room as soon as you hit them with an uair>uair>uair>upB for a kill at 20% (the powers of the Meta Knight).

You play Meta Knight now?

If I want to quit, I usually wait till I win a game, because I don't want people to think I'm salty.

People that quit right after winning are just as annoying :p

It's not just versus where it's annoying. Co-op as soon as it doesn't go perfect people tend to drop out. single player is better, at least AI sticks around and you never have to wait for them, nor do they make annoying noises. AI > humans. Let the revolution begin!

I dont know the online of SF but salty about losing?

I never met in my 33 years of life one person who was happy about losing in any game. I mean every game not only videogames. If you know someone, please tell me that scientiest can take a look at him.
