I'm moreso impressed over all that time being put into single-player, that is very... unusual. I have over 800 hours in Smash Ultimate, but obviously the vast majority of that play time was in multiplayer.

Well, I personally have no reason to play multiplayer. I don't plan on getting good in Smash so the whole competetive aspect is lost on me.

And my Online experiences have been pretty laggy. And the friends I have are not into couch gaming, I could maybe get them to play Mario Kart at best.

I do miss the Smash Run from the 3DS game. I would have a lot more hours if that was in the game :D

So I am slowly running out of things to do in Smash.

Do you play multiplayer against AI? There's no goal to work toward but there is limitless fun to be had with all the settings you can tweak and stages to choose from. I always enjoy inventing modes, though I wont lie it's more fun with real people of course.

What is this madness?!!

J/k, not an issue.

I still wish we had light gun games available on Switch.

Yeah if I have one complaint about the Switch/Joycons it's the lack of an IR pointer. It's the only thing stopping them being a true next gen Wiimote + Nunchuk.

I miss that silky, pinpoint-accurate aiming, though gyro is at least a better substitute than just sticks.

A lot of people seem to like motion aiming in Switch ports of games like Turok.

I love motion aiming in Doom 2016 and Wolfenstein II on Switch.

I just don't love it quite as much as the pointer aiming in games like Metroid Prime 3 on Wii.

You sure there's no pointer aiming with the Joycons?

There is an IR camera, but it faces the wrong way (away from the TV) as it was only intended to be used for stuff like LABO.

I think the switch lite will sell like hot cakes. It's going to fly off shelves. It comes at the perfect time for me too, I'll be getting one for my daughter, then we will play together.

I don't doubt that it will in Japan, but I'm not sure about the west. It's lower cost but also lower value, especially with the regular Switch getting the superior battery life. More options are always good tho, now we just need that Switch Pro.

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter has is out now on Switch.

Not my cup of tea personally but is really impressive looking by Switch standards.

Ethan Carter dev talks about bringing the game to Switch:

http://www.theastronauts.com/2019/08/vanishing-ethan-carter-nintendo-switch/

"Does Switch make sense for a game like The Vanishing of Ethan Carter?

My honest of answers is: I have no idea. We made it for Switch because it’s a major gaming platform and there’s a lot of people who have this console and don’t have the PC/PS4/Xbox. Maybe they’ll find the game interesting.

We’ll see, I guess. Let us know what’s your experience, if you got it on Switch."

"We did some tweaks and optimizations, some 4K textures had to be downgraded, etc. I hope that’s obvious. But the end result is something, as I have already mentioned, we’re really proud of."

Some caps from the Switch port:

Far out, I think we may have a new competitor in the field of "best looking Switch game"...

After beating the Golden Deer route in 3 Houses, naturally I want to start on the others but I also want to wait until Lunatic mode is out. Could be as soon as next month, or as long as next year. The struggle is fierce, please let it be worth the wait. If I can still walk up and kill everything, my disappointment will be great.
