Holy shit, Fire Emblem Fates has now joined the 1000+ hours playtime club along with Splatoon/2! Did not realize I'd been playing it for that long, and still plenty more to go too! Currently finishing up Revelation Lunatic/Classic with no grind/dlc/online, then I will do another Conquest run with the same settings/rules, including Endgame this time. Had no choice but to break my rules on my first run through, but this time I'm fully aware of the absolute bullshit insanity that is Endgame and have devised a strategy for it. One simply can't say they've truely mastered Fire Emblem until they've legit beaten Lunatic/Classic Conquest afterall!

So yeah, it's clear this game is the peak of the Fire Emblem series for me atleast. I'm sure Three Houses will be good, but there's no way it'll be better than Fates, definitely not gonna have this as an expectation for the game. The only way to accomplish that feat would be to pretty much copy-paste Fate's gameplay (more specifically Conquest) but have an actually good story that's sold in a single normal priced package.

Yeah, seems to have failed to really find a foothold on any platform.  Honestly, feels like a combination of letting the brand atrophy, failing to adequately promote the release globally, and having it release in such a busy, noisy month.

Also, I think they made a mistake going with Playstation as sort of their primary promotional platform.  I get Sony has a big global presence but they also had other priorities this year and in this period.  Nintendo likely would have given them more prominence given the chance.

Yeah ... don't get why AA titles would focus advertising on Playstation ... at this point, that market is too crowded advertising wise. Game could have sold a lot on Switch if it had more focused advertising on that platform, for me at least as someone who didn't play a VC game before I considered it one of the biggest/most important third parties for it (partially because it wasn't a big downgrade from PS4 so it fit naturally). It is saddenjng, if it ends up not selling then I worry for the series. I'll buy the port of 1.

I'm happy that relatively niche games like TWEWY and Valkyria Chronicles 1 are finding audiences on Switch. Also happy for Mega Man 11. Is Ultimate Chicken Horse that good? It seems to have found its way on the eshop charts on most, if not all, regions.
