Maybe a stronger connection, there was an update for the joycons but also the pro controller (connect it with the cable to update)

I'm not quite sure with what's going on in the Melee community but Armada has followed PPMD into retirement, M2K himself looks like he'll focus a lot of time into Ultimate going by his recent content, Mango and Hbox are both having personal issues in trying to be consistent with the latter saying he's reducing his time with the game, Mango juggling his personal life and Hbox with mental health/depression, Leffen is focusing on other games like DBFZ.

Much like with Ken before hand the era of the 5G seems to be entering a twilight, the game will live on but I'm not sure if it can as big with out its usual icons that's the problem in a community the centres on a few elite players. Street Fighter may have had the 5 Gods of Japan but the community wasn't centre around them in the same fashion how Melee tends to centre on key figures of the era (first with Ken then the 5 Gods of Melee).

Started playing through Hollow Knight had the game for a while but have been derusting on Bayonetta so haven't had the chance, probably the best indie game currently on eShop imo and that's quite a feat to pull off when you have the likes of Celeste and such among the library. Glad Metroidvania games are making a slight come back along with Jrpgs.

Damn, outside of amsa  and the Gods I'm not to familiar with any other Melee players. I hope this doesn't turn into a big problem for the Melee community.

Not quite sure what's up with your Melee hate, but if people prefer an older game over a newer one then they should be allowed to play it. 

Should probably wait until Ultimate releases before we can say it's the better game, but even then...

Eh, people can just feel that Melee is the better game. It doesn't have to be that Melee players are stuck in the past or won't accept change.

Imo Melee is the best, not to say Smash 4 is bad, it's good in terms of how it plays (everything else though not so much...), I personally don't like it anymore but I still think it's good. My experience with Smash was pretty much like a typical casual, I played Melee until Brawl came out and Brawl until Smash 4 came out. I thought Smash 4 was the best by a small margin but then I picked up Melee at the tail end of last year. For me Melee is the best by far and I know others that played both and prefer Melee and even someone that started with Smash 4 and then went to Melee.

I suppose my point is, is that people have different tastes and for some Melee is just better.

If a Smash game releases that's better than Melee in Melee fans opinions then they'll move on.
